We know Jesus saved people and forgave their sins.
But he never once "baptized" anyone in water..

Instead, He commanded His disciples to baptize people in His name (in the names of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit) in order to make them His disciples. It is best for a person to do exactly as Jesus commands if he desires to inherit eternal life.
Acts 2:38

Second, you consent to baptism because of your belief in Him
Third, you receive forgiveness of sins as a result of your baptism
Fourth, you receive salvation/justification as a result of the forgiveness of your sins by baptism
