Why is Bonds jobless?

Do you want to see Barry Bonds play this season?

  • Heck yeah!

  • Frankly, my dear...

  • Hell no!

Hard as it is to believe, the greatest hitter of our generation and maybe all-time remains unemployed with five weeks to go before Opening Day. Or is it so hard to believe?
Barry Bonds remains at home in Beverly Hills, Calif., patiently waiting for the phone to ring. Jeff Borris, Bonds' longtime agent who negotiated a $19.2 million salary (including incentives) from the Giants last year after an injury-plagued 2006 season, has been patient, too. Borris has said nothing beyond expressing Bonds' continuing desire to keep playing. Until now, that is...

Greatest hitter of our generation: possibly.

Greatest hitter all time: Don't think so. Mantle, Ruth, Williams, Mays, Aaron, Cobb, etc...the list goes on of people who have hit better than Bonds. Bonds isn't being hired because he's too much of a media nightmare for teams and he's washed up. He should've retired 3 seasons ago, but he wanted to stay around and break the home run record. When Hank broke Babe's record, he was still productive while Bonds barely gets by.

Perjury and steroids will not keep him unemployed. Some cellar-dweller team that needs to sell tickets will sign him.

It's interesting, however, that he has still not been picked.
