. What about the months, did the Romans also change the names of the months?

Before we see if the Romans changed the months, lets take a look at a couple of verses with the names of some of the months that God gave us.

Exodus 13:4 This day came ye out in the month Abib.
5 And it shall be when the LORD shall bring thee into the land of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, which he sware unto thy fathers to give thee, a land flowing with milk and honey, that thou shalt keep this service in this month.
6 Seven days thou shalt eat unleavened bread, and in the seventh day shall be a feast to the LORD.

This month (Abib) is the first of the year according to the word of God.
According to the Romans this month is now called March ( we will see this in a moment). What is the second month According to the word of God?

I Kings 6:1 And it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month Zif, which is the second month, that he began to build the house of the LORD.

Below in Kings you have another month according to the Word of God, this is the seventh month.

I Kings 8:2 And all the men of Israel assembled themselves unto king Solomon at the feast in the month Ethanim, which is the seventh month.

Without having done any research I'd say Yes pagan Rome is responsible for the names of the months. Pagan Rome did not worship the God of the Bible so I doubt that they knew of the calendar kept by the Jews.

who gave the names of the months that we use today. Take a look and see were they got their names from.

(Grolier Encyclopedia)

The Months

In every Western European language, the names of the months retain their Roman origin.

English names are January, for Janus, god of beginning and endings; February, derived from Februalia, a time for religious atonement;
March, for Mars, the god of war;
April, from aperire, Latin for "to open" (as, spring flowers);
May, for Maia, the goddess of plant growth;
June, from juvenis, "youth";
July, for Julius Caesar;
August, for Augustus, first Roman emperor;
September, from septem, "seven";
October, octo,"eight'
November, novem "nine"
December, "ten"

(The earliest Latin calendar had only 10 months, with September as the 7th month and December the 10th.)

Who changed the names of the months?

Once again the Romans. Knowing that Abib is the first of the Year according to the word of God, which falls around the vernal, or spring equinox, which occurs about March 21.

You will see a change in the seasons if we use the Lords calendar. This is the beginning of spring, not only that the day and the night are equal in length.

So, where did January 1st come from? Take a look.

(Grolier Encyclopedia)

The Roman year began in March; December, whose name is derived from the Latin word for "ten," was the tenth month of the year. In 153 ©, Roman consuls began taking office on January 1, which became the beginning of the year.

This practice was retained in the Julian and Gregorian calendars, although other starting dates continued to be used. England and its colonies, for example, used March 25 and the Julian reckoning until 1752.

Thus, George Washington was officially born on Feb. 11, 1731, Old Style (O.S.); this is Feb. 22, 1732, Gregorian, or New Style (N.S.).

Once again the Romans. I mentioned earlier the Lord gave us a warning through His word that an organization will come that will throw His word in the garbage and go about making their own doctrine. Let’s take a look at some of the warnings.

Daniel 7:25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.

Did the Roman Emperors changes times and laws? Yes! You see that above.

You have seen the Romans have changed the day worship, the beginning of the year, the names of the months and gave names to the days of the week. What else have the Romans done to put a blind fold on the world to set up their government? Let’s point out another part of this Empire. Pay close attention to this verse.

Daniel 11:37 Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all.

What religion comes to mind when you read this verse. Notice who ever this person is he has no desire of a women.

Let's take another look at a warning that was given by the Word of God.

I Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. 4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:

Let's take another look at a warning that was given by the Word of God.

I Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. 4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:

Here people that have given themselves over to seducing sprits and doctrine of devils use these scripture to throw away Gods dietary law.

They are missing the point. It plainly says “God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.”

What truth is known by the true believers? They know His Laws are not done away with. But what is taught by the churches today is all you have to do is pray over it. Yet, the Lord said eat only the foods that were created to be received. What are they? Read Leviticus chapter 11.

Notice something strange in these verses? Can you see the warning? Here it is “Forbidding to marry”. What religion forbids you to marry if you want to be a part of their ministry? Before we find out, does the Lord want you marry if you are a minister? Take a look.

I Timothy 3:1 This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;

This is one of the offices of the church. Did it or did it not say a Bishop should have a wife? Here are the sons of Levi, which were the priest of God, were they forbidden to marry?

Let’s see.

Leviticus 21:13 And he shall take a wife in her virginity.
14 A widow, or a divorced woman, or profane, or an harlot, these shall he not take: but he shall take a virgin of his own people to wife.

These are the sons of Levi, they even were even told how they should choose a wife. When man came on the scene what was the first commandment that was given to him?

Genesis 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

Does that need to be interpreted? No! It isn’t natural for a man not to have a woman. When a man doesn’t have a woman around, what does he begin to do? Turn to other men.

This is what’s happening within this organization, which forbids their priests to marry. Let’s check out some history and see if we can put a name on this organization.

(Grolier Encyclopedia)

St. Benedict, 480-547, was an Italian monk who founded the Benedictines. The rule that he wrote for his monks became a model monastic rule. The only source for his life is the second book of The Dialogues written by Gregory I(the Great). After being a hermit for three years, Benedict gathered disciples around him, first at Subiaco and later at Monte Cassino.

Recent scholarship has shown that many passages from the Rule of Benedict were copied from an older monastic rule known as the Rule of the Master, dating from the beginning of the 6th century. Benedict's rule, however, was more spiritual, more person-oriented, and less narrow in its approach. Feast day: July 11 (Western); March 14 (Eastern).

Celibacy is the practice of remaining unmarried and abstaining from sexual activity. It is practiced in some form in most religions, usually for reasons of asceticism. Celibacy is particularly associated with Roman Catholic priests, who are forbidden by canon law to marry. This requirement is distinct from the vow of chastity taken by monks and nuns, who choose a life of consecrated chastity and ratify their choice by vow.

Celibacy has had a complex history in the Christian churches. It is required of priests in the Western church, but only of bishops in the Eastern church.

It first appeared in church law c.306 with the enactments of the Council of Elvira in Spain. Gradually it became part of the common law of the church. Practice frequently did not coincide with the law, however, and clerical concubinage was a problem for many centuries. During the Reformation it was strongly urged that the requirement of celibacy be dropped.

This did not happen in the Roman Catholic church, however, although the practice was dropped by Protestants. After the Second Vatican Council (1960-65), the issue of celibacy was again debated vigorously with the hope of making it optional for the clergy. Popes Paul VI and John Paul II, however, reconfirmed the traditional teaching that celibacy should remain mandatory for the clergy of the Latin church.

Reasons generally given for priestly celibacy are promotion of single-minded dedication to the ministry and the need for freedom for prayer.
Asceticism, derived from the Greek word for "exercise," denotes a system of practices that aims at the development of virtue and strength of character through self-denial and mortification.

It has been an aspect of most religious traditions and of many philosophies, such as Stoicism. Methods of asceticism generally include such exercises as celibacy, fasting, upright posture, periods of silence, performance of unpleasant tasks, and withdrawal from human companionship.

It is thought that these practices gradually free a person's spiritual element from the body's demands. Once control has been achieved, a harmony of the whole person is experienced. Forms of self-mutilation, flagellation, and castration have been used in extreme practices of asceticism.

Adherents of Jainism in India sometimes even starve themselves to death in striving for sainthood. Among Christians, ascetic practices receive greater emphasis in the Roman Catholic, Orthodox , and Anglo-Catholic traditions than in the Protestant churches.

you are using an old testament prophecy to speak of a apocalyptic event, that has yet to take place...basically repeating gossip, which is written of in Proverbs 6.18-24 which God detests...

For what you speak of, the following have to be in place or have come to pass
we are not in the time of tribulation
the antichrist is not here
the temple has not been rebuilt
the daily sacrifice has not started in the temple
the Levites are not in daily prayer
the Holy Spirit has not withdrawn
the saints have not been raptured

doesn't your bible say judge not, lest you too stand judgement?

who's judging? so lets get it right

Jn 7:24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

Man can judge but it has to be righteous.

as far as repeating gossip, what are you talking about here? are you saying the bible is gossip?
