What would it be like to meet up with God after we die?
It would be an awesome but also fearful experience. We would change in the twinkling of an eye from mortal to immortal. We would die to our worldly ways of seeing and doing things. Such life is all numbered to go!
Incredible Joy, yes awesome Joy for that within us which is covered by faith in Christ. In those parts of ourselves where we have longed for Christ's return. Awesome Joy for that within which loves good things, the kind us, the generous us, the sharing us, the forgiving us, the us that cared about our sin, and sought after God's mercies! Oh how many times would we have had life in the Holy Ghost?
Especially in that self where we have battled with our sins, great joy for suddenly all sin is gone forever, also in those parts of self where we have suffered, glorious joy awaits us now.
The love that we will bath in, will give us a good wash however!
In our worldly self we crumble to nothing, for nothing worldly will be valid any more, suddenly the light goes on and we can see the darkness and uselessness of our worldly actions, beliefs, morals and values. In our judgemental self for example, there is judgement, as the Bible warns and what about those unfaithful times we indulged in, when we were less than loving, self centred, or dishonest, cruel, hateful, rebellious, perverted, arrogant or mean?
When we meet God all such life will come to an end. Jesus cuts it all out of us and therefore if we still lived in sins in part of our selves we die to all that on the Day that we meet God. Where we will be judged according to deed as recorded in the book of life.
A believer will be happy to understand that meeting up with God is an awesome liberation and look forward to it. Those that dwell in the darkness will think God is unfair, unjust, and less than perfect, but this only reflects their own darkness of counsel.
God is perfect love and perfectly true, so only people who love love and seek truth will rejoice in Him the Day that they meet.
We are not like God down here but when we meet up with Him we will also be like Him!
What a glorious transformation awaits!
