Ukraine gave peace with Russia a chance in 2015 when Russia was already occupying all or part of 4 of their provinces. Russia's response was to wait 7 years and then try to take the rest. Russia doesn't deserve peace.

Technically true but with three big caveats. 1) He wanted them there for an extremely short time, 2) He wanted to limit their presence to a small geographic area and 3) he wanted their mission to be solely serving as protection of OSCE observers. He also conditioned peacekeeper presence on some pretty big concessions from Ukraine. And of course Ukraine also called for peacekeepers well before he made his "offer".

Do you know what great threat the new Republican were to slavery that had the south up in arms? It was restricting slavery from entering new territories that weren't states yet. Not anything bigger. Not any kind of restriction on any state with slaves, not some sort of compensated emancipation. Just limiting the growth of slavery to new places.

The south had factories, just not as many. Slavery was dying, just very slowly and that's what they feared.

It is a long reach for obtaining peace. Yet we each have responsibility and can live in ways for furthering peace. And God's blessings on the peacemakers. More people talking is not meaning there are more peacemakers there involved with that. But there are further voices to be heard and more peacemakers are needed for it.
