had a discussion with someone about the translation of the NT, i always thought it was ancient Greek but they are positive it is Latin, can anyone help me with some solid proof
The first translations of the NT were indeed into Latin FROM Greek. St. Paul's letters were originally in Greek. There is some evidence, however, that the Syntopic Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke) were actually translated into Greek from the Hebrew. Which makes sense, since the disciples weren't Greek themselves. The structure of the writing of those Gospels suggests Hebrew originals.grateful heart said:had a discussion with someone about the translation of the NT, i always thought it was ancient Greek but they are positive it is Latin, can anyone help me with some solid proof
Mostly Greek, Koine Greek, and some Latin thrown in here and there.grateful heart said:had a discussion with someone about the translation of the NT, i always thought it was ancient Greek but they are positive it is Latin, can anyone help me with some solid proof
