In my dream I saw you there,
Standing tall and proud and fair,
the meadow flowers in your hair,
the whole world paused as if to stare.

Then I fled my fiery hearth,
and we danced on starlit earth,
until the morning's new rebirth.
We spun in seemingly endless mirth.

We danced upon the moonlit hills,
and danced in lands that no man tills,
through streets and under windowsills,
spinning in the endless thrills.

We danced upon the foamy sea,
as waves lapped us with endless glee,
We danced in timeless Jubilee,
over ocean waves, wild and free.

We danced our way up heaven's stair,
among stars that shone bright and fair,
We danced to were the moon did lair,
the perfect flower for your hair.

We danced and spun far underground,
were no living thing has ever made a sound,
among stalagmites sharp and round,
into the earth's deepest wound.

From deepest cave to highest peak,
the mountain tops we then did seek,
to dance on stone and snow so bleak,
down to the beautiful mountain creek.

We danced within the winter wood,
and then we stopped and there you stood,
and finally I understood,
the dream would cease, and wake I would.

And thus I rise to tell my tale,
of how we danced in moonlight pale,
but sweetest dreams are oh so frail,
and memory is of no avail.
