I know there are many discussions on various doctrines that deal with God's nature. ie He treats us as heirs, He treats us as sinnere, He treats us as servants, etc. Sadly these doctrines seem to be mutually exclusive of each other.

Doesn't God treat us as we need? When I rededicated my life I was real upset that I wasn't seeing healings, miracles, and such around me. I heard about them happening but never saw them. So one night a friend of mine was praying with me and I asked about it. God told me via my friend that God would not be a showman for me, to do tricks in order to please me and make me happy. I had just comeout of some serious occult stuff and God was taking me in a different direction. Today because of that, I tend to be a real Word person and I see miracles, but God revealed His wisdom to me in ways almost unexpressable. I see people getting miracles all around me and have had a few myself, but the thing I most hear from God is .... "My Word is enough"

Put on your 'Covenant glasses' and you'll realize that everything you've ever learned about God and the Word is much more solid than you thought. Everything begins to come into focus. You'll also find an unlimited supply of revelation as you visit the old stories and parables you learned years ago without the glasses.

:sorry:

Sorry--I just accidently derailed your thread. It's just that I'm really excited about my new Covenent glasses! :D

Do you think seeing and experiencing miracles would change you?

Andry is right.
God is powerfull! You souldnt need to see a miracle in order to belive that God can do it. And His word is enough! It lists so much that He has done and will do!.
Its like when Jesus was being tempted in the desert. The devil said to Him, It is written in the scripturs that if you fall He will command His angels to catch you (Psalm 91)' and Jesus replyed 'It is also written do not test the Lord your God'.
Here Jesus didnt need to prove God would command His angels to catch Him because He knew it would happen.

What I'm talking about is seeing visible acts on people and wondering why they don't happen to you. ie prophecies, healings, etc. Now, in the ensuing years I have had miracles, and prophecies, but when everyone around you is getting them and you are not, you begin to wonder....

YES!

During times like these, our focus, our spiritual eyes, are not on Jesus. When we're looking at those around us, our comms with God are down. We're on the wrong channel; not plugged in. We all do this.

Along the highway to Peace and Joy is the metropolos of Obedience (casting your cares on Him, thinking on good things, open communication with God). All those on their way to Peace and Joy get get caught at the stoplight in Obedience. You just can't make that light. :p
