The masses are told to go to work so they can buy more. Work hard so you have money to spend. Buy a house and a couple of cars.

If you get stressed from overwork and sick, go to a doctor. Spend your hard earned money on drugs. That’ll fix you up so you can go back to work and earn more so you can spend more.

Since you’re so busy, working so hard, you don’t have time to fix proper meals so you’ll need to grab something on the run. Those drive thru’s are great for that.

Did you stop to pray? Did you give God thanks for that junk food you’re about to eat so you can make it through the day? Did it nourish your body?

Oh, cell phone’s ringing as you drive. No time to think or to pray. Just time to quickly swallow that big bite of the breakfast muffin in your mouth before answering. You had to take big bites because you have to hurry up and finish your breakfast so you can be there on time. You’re already running late because you overslept. You’re so tired because you stayed up late working. There was that phone call last night that just couldn’t wait.

What’s wrong with this picture? Where is God in all of this? Is the so-called “American Dream” worth it? Is this God’s plan for anyone’s life?

If’ you’re tired of the “rat race,” stop racing with the rats. Come out from among them and be separate and touch not the unclean things.

Dare to be different in order to make a difference in this sick society in which we find ourselves living in the 21st century. Jesus is returning for a Bride without spot or wrinkle. Will you be included or excluded.

It’s up to you.

Someone once said, "work smarter not harder".

Though i've yet to master this, "smarter", to me, means working more & harder on the things that will last through eternity (spiritual lives - yours & others') & only doing minimal of other stuff (cleaning weekly instead of daily, not getting materialistic, being satisfied & thankful for a usable car, not a corvett, etc.).
