According to CS Lewis in Mere Christianity the Cardinal Virtues are prudence, temperance, justice and fortitude. The Theological Virtues are faith, charity and hope. My questions are where did they come from? Are they in the bible? Are there other widely acknowledged Christian virtues? Are there also Cardinal/Theological sins?

I'm new to Christianity and am trying to follow the Christian teachings so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The first mention of the four Cardinal Virtues is in the philosopher Plato's writings. The Church informally added the three Theological ones. The Cardinal ones are seen as applying to all humanity, and the Theological ones are seen as applying just to Christians, or theists. None are listed in the bible as a list, you know, but all of them are discussed (and urged) in various places throughout the bible. The first person to put them in list form was a 4th century Christian named Evagrius Ponticus. Yes, there are recognized 7 or 8 deadly sins, and other virtues. See below:

Faith, hope, and charity are listed together in 1 cor 13.
