In today's world, this is a very common thing. People struggling to find meaning to their lives, and even getting by is hard. Many things are automatic, and jobs aren't what they used to be - many of them meaningless routines without any kind of satisfaction or meaning.
Many are alone, too. Funny, how plenty of men and women are sitting by themselves, thinking if they will ever meet anyone. They could be neighbors, even! People feel so out of touch from humanity, that many become shut-ins. There aren't many real communities anymore. Plenty of useless junk, greed, selfishness and superficiality though. It's like society, media and the general culture wants the worst out of people, so it's easy to just quit on certain things. And if one finds someone and even gets married and starts up a family, it's very likely to end up on a divorce. And if you're a man, odds are against you in many countries, and you have little control over what happens then. Very discouraging, all of it, and this generation is really feeling it.
I'm almost 40, on a disability pension, no family, living alone in a small apartment. I can't complain, but I know I'm missing much.
Anyway, there is always hope in Christ, and we can't really know what will happen. We can't know what people we will meet and when, and we can be active ourselves too, in whatever things we enjoy doing or feel drawn towards. Sometimes we have chances of helping others, to take our minds out of ourselves, and we can find something new that way, too. We never know.
I'll put some of my favorite Bible quotes here, usually concerning people who might feel like they don't have much, or feel low for whatever reasons.
--------------
“Blessed are you who are poor,
for yours is the kingdom of God.
Blessed are you who hunger now,
for you will be satisfied.
Blessed are you who weep now,
for you will laugh."
I like how Christ always cared for the miserable. He always told the people how the world is what it is, and how it is very hard to find happiness in it. But in saying these things, He also gave us hope.
----------
"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."
This often comforts me. His peace certainly is different, and His promises are better than the world's.
----------
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life"?
“And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."
...and...
“The student is not above the teacher, nor a servant above his master. It is enough for students to be like their teachers, and servants like their masters. If the head of the house has been called Beelzebul, how much more the members of his household!
“So do not be afraid of them, for there is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known. What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight; what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the roofs. Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care." And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows."
God doesn't want us to worry. It's hard for many of us to not worry, but in the end, it is useless. There is comfort in that. There is also comfort in knowing that Christ suffered first, and we cannot be better than Him, or even demand better life than Him. None of us, no matter if christian or not, can know where our lives will lead in the end. In this part of the Bible, He was talking to his disciples about upcoming persecution, but there is a lesson in it concerning life in general. Many of us will lead a cozier life than Christ did, but in the end it is enough to have faith in Christ. No matter how miserable situations may come, Christ suffered it all first. I don't take this as a condemnation, but as comfort. We can have nothing, and still have it all in the end.

You have plenty of hope, even if you couldn't feel that hope. Said a prayer for you, hoping for comfort and guidance to come your way. I hope you don't worry too much, and take each day at a time, and that you can enjoy life for what it is, and find peace for your soul and good people to be with. And if you want monetary help (and have a paypal account, it's quick to make one if you don't), you can PM me and we'll work something out. I've been helped a lot, and I should do the same for others. Christ told us to give to one another, it would not be an inconvenience for me. God bless.
Oh, and welcome.
