There comes a time when words must become plain so that they are not mistaken to mean something other than what is meant. We are rapidly approaching a time in the history of the world when we must speak and be understood, for the sake of the salvation of those who don't know Christ, and for the sake of those who profess to be Christian yet renounce Him in their actions. This is a serious matter, a matter of life and death, eternal life and eternal death.
What is the most important duty of the soldier, be he Christian, or otherwise? In the eyes of the State, the duty most valued and appreciated by them is that of executioner. The professional prison executioner, the one who kills only those who have been condemned as capital criminals, is a deplorable and wretched person to his fellowman, but not so for the soldier; national pride and recognition for the soldier who executes in concert with others are worthy and commendable characteristics.
The Oath of Enlistment
"I, _____, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God."
With these words, the Christian soldier turns his back on Christ. Conscripts, and those who freely volunteer have sworn fidelity to a cause other than mercy, forgiveness, and love. Most of these boys are either still too immature to understand the importance of what they promised or they have been brainwashed by the propaganda of state and family. Their present concern is now, before anything else, to obey the orders and instructions given to them by a man; they have sworn faithfulness to obey the President. What that means is that this soldier has given himself, body and soul, to obey a man, who is not God. There is now only one enemy, the President's enemy. This man knows that these soldiers are at his disposal and that they have sworn to fight "all enemies, foreign and domestic" and to murder even their own people without hesitation when ordered.
I know these words are hard, but they expose the brutality and horrors which military training prepares young men to perform. If we have learned anything from the spectator sport of power-politics it is that politicians are intoxicated on the potent drug of worldly fame and power. They sear the consciences of young men, then test their reflexes, then give the order, and men who the Bible calls their brother, all made in the image of God, die, while their leaders sleep peacefully, and bewitched people and Christians respond with silent applause. With very few exceptions these words will be considered insane to a people who have become slavishly submissive, through the news media, the entertainment industry, and political stagecraft, to the poison of propaganda.
All the Christian young men of America are exposed to ever-increasing measures that numb their spiritual senses to the brutality of death, although the New Testament, that they will claim to read and know, forbids the very act of even thinking such things much less elevating murder to some sacred national act. They have in effect renounced Christ, with their sworn readiness to kill at the first command of an egotistic man seated in an Oval Office, and patiently await to be told where they are to commit this murder. They will go like a herd of senseless sheep, a few will have to be compelled, but most will voluntarily go if only they can earn some recognition, a scrap of ribbon, or piece of metal.
When these boys are released, and their ability to reason independently returns, not a few will find their own lives repugnant and choose to end the shame that they were led to believe was honor. The others in self-delusion come to terms with themselves and dutifully go back to their former life and lecture others on dignity, liberty, bravery, and the brotherhood of man. You can see these men at any VA hospital or clinic parading their memorabilia on caps, jackets, and uniforms convinced they have kept the faith once delivered to the saints.
Woe to those who call evil good
and good evil,
who put darkness for light
and light for darkness,
who put bitter for sweet
and sweet for bitter.
Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes
and clever in their own sight.
Isaiah 5:20-21
