I wish there were a no sock policy too. My opinion is if you need a sock to discuss something you probably should not be discussing it on the internet at all.

It is deceptive & speaks volumes about the character of those who use then imo.

i might point out that over the years- we have had people suffering from depression or domestic violence who dont want others to know who they are when seeking support

i have used mine for parody and so has cosmic- but the main reason cf will not ban them imo is because it would be impossible to enforce and probably half the accounts at cf are socks and eliminating them would mean cf would have some explaining to do advertisers they make claims too

Sadly though, people take advantage of the fact & change them more often than they change their underwear.

Those are the people that I find deceptive & disingenuous. To the detriment to trust within the forum.

I suspect they are? I also suspect that many come here for fellowship with fellow christian believers and also there will always be the element who come to cause trouble and as much chaos and upset as they can. Why? Because where ever people meet in God's name the enemy will always try to stop it. The only answer to this is 'Thank God that He is bigger and better than any who try to belittle either Him or His people'

I'm just so over complaint threads... because they resolve nothing- I resolved to just let OBOB be who it's going be. I don't care who has what sock... I really don't.

I just don't see the horrible fighting as of late. I see ppl who have differences of opinion but I do not see the fighting and the lewdness that we had in the past where some folks outright attack other people. and that is a good thing and just about all we can ask for.

Actually, I am noone's sock, I was a member a couple of years ago and left and then returned just recently and once again find myself being disappointed in the forum in many ways. I have a lot of insight in this forum trust me.

the fact the folks do not feel comfortable enough to say who they really are when discussing sensitive matters... should reveal something about us, to us.

Actually there is a standard that Christ expected us to uphold and yet a lot of people fail to practice it, I know I know we are all sinners but the truth of the matter is we should all be trying harder. I used to be baptized_in_the_spirit. I don't think you know me. It was way back before I was married with a baby.

Hi, Joan of Arc. What a wonderful, powerful role model for a young woman to have.

It's OK to be disappointed with CF. Realizing that you only have the power to change your own behavior, you still can hope that your example may inspire others.

Yes, there are some people who communicate by personal attacks. I just figure they are emotionally scarred in some way that causes them to lash out at others, so I try not to take it personally.

On my bad days, I (born Catholic) sometimes muse that perhaps being a convert from the evangelical religions might be akin to being a reformed smoker--that they have taken all the rigidity from their old religion and gone hunting for all the rigidity in their new religion and become completely inflexible. And I don't have the experience of being a convert (and if I had, I would surely have become UCC or Episcopal or something pretty liberal) so I can't criticize.

I was just born a Catholic and try to make the best of it, which, for me, means focusing on all the great things about Catholicism and not thinking very much about the rest of it.

You seem OK to me It's funny how those who complain about threads being complaint threads often complain more than anyone else
