Sen. Ron Johnson is accusing the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention of abusing its authority by coordinating with social media platforms to censor information about COVID-19 vaccines.

The Wisconsin Republican referenced social media posts about vaccines, including one of his own, that were characterized as misleading.

In a letter he sent earlier this week to Dr. Mandy Cohen, CDC director, he called for critical documents and materials about the efforts to suppress vaccine information from the public through social media.

This doesn't seem to add up. The thread title talks about censorship, while the OP says that it is just a case of speech being used to counter inaccurate or misleading speech. That's not censorship - although calls by the Senator in question to bring the force of government down against that free speech in response to his do seem a bit authoritarian.

When keeping the base “angry” is the only job, anything will do as fodder.
In fact the more “normal” the thing that is being used to gin up the anger the better since anything that is actually “odd” will seem like the Administration is wildly “out-of-control!!!1!”

But’s here’s the thing, you can only keep the hoi polloi angry for so long before they get bored.
