Scott Walker email under the disgues of Christian Forums ?

Did others get an email sent to them which looks like it came from Christian Forums, under the title of "Faith," but when you open it, it's an ad for Scott Walker's Campaign ?

It probably isn't. My guess is that you have a spoofed email there and CF has nothing to do with it.

Except that the email comes from christianforums.com, same as all the other CF emails.

What email service are you using? If we could get the properties of the email, we could see where it's coming from really. The return address on an email is a lot like the return address on a letter; you can put whatever you want and there's no verification process to prove it's right. But the server names are harder to spoof.

I use my Comcast email account

comparison purposes between the Walker email and
the standard CF-thread-update email. Both hail from
Christian Forums, however the "mailed-by" and
signed-by" fields are different between the two. I'm
not sure what to make of that. I use Gmail.

The amazonses.com is Amazon web services. It appears that standard CF email comes from a server that's dedicated to CF. I would say this is pretty clearly a spoof CF has nothing to do with.

It's important to note that there is absolutely nothing CF can do to prevent this from happening.

I'd be shocked if it was officially from the campaign, as that would be bad press and they likely have their own domain name, but that doesn't mean someone affiliated with the campaign didn't do it. The Amazon web services is kind of a dead end unless I could get some more details about the message.

That's a strange conclusion.

I would expect that almost all legitimate campaign emails end with a request for donations.

I received it too. I am so far undecided on which Republican to vote for in the primary but this kind of tactic would work against him in my opinion.

I got it, and it must have come via using Christian Forums'membership listings, as I have no other association or link which could generate this.
I'm a continent away for a start.

I didn't get one of the emails, why would only some get it and not others? I'd say it is for sure spam.

I got one too. If I was going to vote, this email would have ensured he didn't get my vote. I'm glad I got it. Now I know where he stands and that I need not vote for someone so against freedom.
