Yeah, they're good those Swedish detectives. You're bound to recognize a few words; Scandinavian and Dutch not quite "kissing cousins", but certainly closely enough related for a good hearty slap on the back!

Swedish and Norwegian close enough; but they have a rather different vocab., much to our Norwegian amusement!

Danish is close too, except they refuse to understand what we're saying.. (They call us "mountain apes"; which is supposed to be an insult, but in fact we find it kinda cool). I like Danes, btw.

As for Norwegian TV shows...you ain't missing much.

I've managed to "survive" in Berlin, etc., though. Mainly by not using any grammer. Just sort of "noun speak" like "Ich bier." or "Mein auto kaput!"

Yes! Well, Low German. And I decided to write an essay about it. But I don't speak it
