In the face of stiffling I.A.E.A. rebukes, Iran blatantly continues on its course for uranium-enrichment:

Western powers have stepped up their warnings that Iran's resumption of nuclear research will probably result in referral to the UN Security Council.
UK Prime Minister Tony Blair said European ministers meeting on Thursday would decide how to proceed, but taking the matter to the UN looks "likely".

A US State Department spokesman agreed it was now "more likely than ever".

But Iran's leader dismissed the threat. He said the research would go on despite the Western "fuss".

How is it that the U.S, Britain, France, Russia, China, India, Pakistan and Israel can have nukes but Iran can't? What exactly gives these nations the right to not only possess nukes but the right to deny that same right to Iran?

like this will work. if all the countries that trade with iran are also sanctioned unless they stop, then those countries can just stop trading with us -- pretty sure those countries are the ones with oil, too, so this stupidly proposed embargo will backfire and we'll be walking to work again. unless you know, we play nice with venezuela and they flood the world market with their oil. which by now is a remote possiblity. we sure have some rubes working the negotiating table over there.

None of the countries you mentioned (save Iran, of course) has openly denied the occurence of the Holocaust and threatened to wipe an entire nation off the map. You do not allow someone who makes those statements to have nuclear weapons, because he is clearly either indoctrinated, insane, or both.

I suppose Bush is going to attack Iran now. Hope he is not that stupid, but since he is a warmonger he will probably do it. Rather I agree with what Iran is doing or not, they do have a right to proctect their country just as the United States has the right to protect its country.

I'm sure Iran wants to wipe out the Jewish regime in power, but not the Jewish people.

If Iran really wanted to eliminate Jewish people, it would start by taking away from them exceptional political rights that it gives them* -something the Jews get no where else but Israel.

Iran just wants to restore an Arab state, (given the Arab majority), and put an end to israel threatning it constantly. Israel has been threatning Iran before Iran made those comments to destroy Iran's nuclear program, just like it destroyed Iraq's nuclear program.

ALSO, WE MUST REMEMBER, THAT U.S. IS THE ONLY COUNTRY IN THE WORLD THAT HAS USED NUKES TO KILL 100,000 - 200,000 INNOCENT CIVILIANS.

Pakistan and India both hate each other. The last war they fought was in 1999 (quite recent). The U.S. has already used nukes to massacre civilians, and therefore has a "nuclear criminal record".

You know quite little about IRanian history. Iran was one of the greatest ally of the allies; so much so that Stalin, Churchill, and Roosevelt met in Iran to plan what to do with Germany. This was known as the Tehran Conference, took place between Nov.28 and Dec.1 in 1943.

This conference came after the Cairo conference (Cairo is a city in Egypt, which is an Arab country). The Cairo conference happened during November 22-26 in 1943.

This was attended by Churchill, Rooselvelt, and Chiang Kai-Shek.

Furthermore, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon were all "allies" during world war II.

The only Arab country to enter the war on the Axis side was libya, and that was because it was an Italian colony (i.e it had no choice of it's own).

Iran wants Israel wiped off the map, period - i.e. cities flattened, no people left alive. All because of it's prejudice against the Jews. It wants the terror that comes with having nukes.
