One day St Francis of Assisi summoned a young novice and said, "Let us take a walk into town and preach to the people."
So they set off, talking about the wonders of God as they walked along. after some time they arrived back at the monastery gates, and prepared to go inside. The novice stopped and said, "But Father, we forgot to preach!" Laying his hands on the young man's shoulder, St Francis replied, "Son bits of our conversation may have been heard. Our faces, our demeanour must surley have been observed. In this way we have been preaching ever since we left the monastry. Son it is no use walking to preach if we do not preach as we walk."

Actions speak louder than words, and usually it is the things that we do and the way that we do them that shows others what we are and what we believe.
