The 'Phos Hilaron' (known in English as 'Hail Gladdening Light' or 'O Gladsome Light') is usually dated to around the 3rd or 4th century- though I've seen it said that St. Justin referred to this hymn around 150 A.D. It is still sung at daily Vespers. The other oldest known hymn is a 'Hymn to the Holy Trinity' from Egypt around the 4th century.
