Obama’s Nightmare: Iraqis Set to Sue US Government for War Crimes

27.09.2016
As Congress attempts to override a presidential veto of legislation that would allow US citizens to sue foreign governments over terror attacks, an organization representing Iraqis killed or wounded by the US military is threatening to sue the American government for war crimes.

This isn't going to be Obama's nightmare in so much as it will likely be Hillary's or Donald's.

Those opposed to 9-11 victim families being able to sue Saudi Arabia, I wonder what those same opponents will say of this? Be consistent and rebuke this? Or claim Iraqi's have a right to pursue this action?

The difference is that 9/11 attacks were not carried out by the Saudi military or official representatives of the Saudi government. They were criminal non state actors. American military forces are, well, American military forces.

Nothing more to see here folks. Don't ask questions. The official story is the true story.

...Now where was that kool-aid I've been looking for...

Bahahahah! I love when the tin foil hat crowd think they're the ones who see clearly and everyone else is blind. ^_^ ^_^ ^_^

Possibly, there are a number of Iraqis who under Saddam did not even think there is such a thing as suing a government. But, now that they have tasted a form of democracy with accountability of the government to the people, ones are also finding out how they might be able to hold the American government accountable!

And America got them started in freedom so now they can sue the United States??

America and it's allies also started them on the path of years of bitterness, murder and destruction. If you ask most Iraqi's I'll bet they preferred their un-free but largely safe and stable world to the appalling mess they have now.

What, "we killed you're innocent and destroyed your infrastructure, but because we gave you freedom, you can't use that freedom to sue us"?

Almost like demanding that the Palestinians have free elections and then telling them the people they freely elected are not acceptable to the interests of the United States.
