I'm involved in some ministries where some of the people are very hard hearted, then others seem to want to know Christ, but severely struggle.
Many have been exposed to easy believism, and this has sorely corrupted those who are babes in Christ, or just returning from a long prodigal experience.

I hear so very often "we all make mistakes," "We're all gonna sin," "we sin every day," "just ask forgiveness, and He understands..." So you get the drift.

Yes, the leaders do believe in repentance, and that there must be fruit. So I suppose it could be worse, for some do not even preach repentance or the seriousness of sin.

There needs to be the fire of holy zeale amidst these kind of assemblies. I always try to encourage people to read the entire book of 1 John, and in KJV, or you might miss 1 John 5:7 which properly reads from the original text the disciples had, "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one."

1 John 2:1-3 is paramount to knowing the doctrine of repentance from sin and a turning to God in all holy conversation and godliness:
"My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments."

1 John 3:4-11 is equally important,
"Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.
Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.
Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.
For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another."

Read these words. Pray about them. Ask God for wisdom, and for the overcoming power to destroy sin, because sin has already been destroyed at the cross. Christ came to destroy the works of the devil. Be filled with the Spirit and you will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh!

How about Matthew 5:48? "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect." That word perfect there is from "teleios" which in this context means, "wanting nothing necessary to completeness, perfect, and, consummate human integrity and virtue." It can also mean mature or of full age, brought to its end or finish; but in context, since it says "as your Father in heaven is perfect", it can only mean the wanting of nothing for completeness, and consummate, that is, complete in every detail, of the highest degree, of human integrity and virtue.

It is truly sad to hear so many reciting what many in the CHURCH have taught them, and in many cases it's ideas learned from the WORLD.

Such is the idiom "Nobody's perfect," that Websters defines as:
"used to say that everyone makes mistakes
Yes, you made a mistake, but it's okay; nobody's perfect."

"Go and sin no more" Jesus said. He also said, "Go and sin no more, lest a worse thing happen to thee."

We must teach the overcoming faith that shatters sin, and casts down imaginations. We must cut off sin at its root, even if it hurts us to give up as much as it would to cut off your hand or pluck out your eye, which Jesus spoke: if such things offend you, cut it off or pluck it out. Addicted to dope, or tobacco? Cut it off! Pournagriffy? Don't look at it! Pluck it out. Rock n Roll? Stop listening to it! And get rid of it. Throw the cigarettes away. Flush the dope. Delete the pourn off your phone, or burn the magazine. No- don't give them to someone else and compound their sin, which only makes you guilty of corrupting them. Burn it! Trash it. Tear it up. Smash those rock CDs. Delete the songs off your phone.

There is freedom in Christ, but you cannot serve two masters. You cannot fill yourself with sinful things and expect God's favor. Repent and confess thy sins unto Him who can forgive, through the blood of the Lamb, Jesus. Turn to Him with all your hearts, not partial hearts. The divided kingdom cannot stand, and if you are a kingdom divided, you will not stand!

Search the Scriptures: take up your cross and follow Jesus. Crucify that vile flesh: mortify your members upon this earth, that ye may be children of the Most High who rules in Heaven.
