1. She wants the wedding there, but I thought the bride married where her family was.
2. I cannot fly... unless I had a personal anesthesiologist and I hit the lottery.
[I am not even sure my oldest son likes to fly, either]
3. No money for such an adventure.


SO is it traditional the bride goes to her family for her wedding?

That's what I have always heard.

That's what I have always heard.
I have never heard of that. The up to the couple and their priest. I’m sorry about the difficulties involved. :( But congratulations on your daughter’s upcoming nuptials. :)

Well, the wedding is traditionally held in the bride's hometown, so tradition is on your side. However, that rule stems from when the bride's parents were paying for everything. Since they were "hosting" the wedding, they got to pick the location

From what I gather that tradition is considered ‘old school’ now.

Well, she didn't ask about prices or anything. If small, could have had at my house.
But she didn't even talk about anything.
