The author is drawing a parallel to the creation poem. Jesus' resurrection is renewing everything, it's starting a new creation, so there's this allusion to the first garden we heard about in Genesis. If the authors had written it today they probably would've included a "(wink-wink, nudge-nudge)" in the text.
