No shocker, CA, WA and HI all called for Obama immediately.

223-173 Obama, any chances of a Romney landslide just completely evaporated.

That must be a mistake. Several of our conservative friends here assured us that Romney would win over 300 electoral votes and they all seemed so well informed and grounded in reality.

What does "Internet rich guy" mean?

I understand where you're coming from...I used to be liberal when I was your age too. When you're not actually on the paying end of the socialist plan, it doesn't sound as bad. As soon as you start getting the bill for it, it changes your tune pretty quick.

On this matter, I like the Thomas Sowell quote

I have never understood why it is "greed" to want to keep the money you have earned but not greed to want to take somebody else's money

I also like the quote "If you're not liberal at 20, you have no heart...If you're not conservative by 40, you have no brain"

Or, when you get even older, and you understand that plenty of hard working people don't get paid for their hard work, and that your own success is largely derivative of advanced opportunity (doesn't mean you didn't work hard, but hard work alone isn't the path to wealth. The old adage "it's not what you know, but who you know" is very true), you'll understand that conservatism isn't a reasonable ideaology.

I'm a liberal, but that doesn't make me a democrat. Both parties are complicit in corporate cronyism, neither party is promoting a system that benefits the working American.

The problem in your reasoning, Minichervi, is that most (certainly not all) of the extremely wealthy (which does not include you nor i, though we are both among the privileged) "earn" their money on the backs of the poor.

BBC's saying NC's gone Romney. Surprised it was ever in doubt to be honest, thought it'd have been called way before.

And they've pre-emptively called the west coast and Hawaii for Obama. 244-178 by their count. BBC News - US 2012 election results

So what about the wars?

Which ones? The 100+ Billion Bush wars or the 100+ Billion Obama wars?

I didn't agree with either of them.

I know the "well Bush did..." line of thought is the popular rebuttal, but if you compare the spending of Bush vs. Obama...Obama's spending makes Bush's spending look like child's play.

CNN finally calls WI for Obama. that's 2 swing states already. NC goes to Romney as expected, though thin margin.

238-191 Obama, the best Romney could hope for is to squeak by somehow. Obama could sweep all but MO and crush Romney, but not sure how likely that really is.

Unverified rumour: BBC is talking about an ABC tweet saying Jeb Bush has told the Romney campaign that they've lost Florida.

Take it for what you will

Yep Jeb ought to know, he's well informed on the buying and selling of the votes in FL ;)

Obama actually added the Bush wars onto the budget and the unfunded Medicare extensions.

But my point was that government spends money on things we don't want it to. There is no way a government will always spend money on the things you only want it to.
