true, society's idea of 'progression' not only makes me wish for simpler times but it also makes me sick, depending on what the latest 'flavor of the month cause' comes up on the news.
true, we already KNOW how this story's gonna end but it'd be nice to know that the seemingly-little things we do in life really add up in the end....all I can say is, don't give up. Jesus died (and rose) for us; the least we can do is live for Him and His cause.

Yes, a wonderful list of evils to fight and of goods to protect.

I might add that people who call themselves "Christians" do not always agree. Many are sincere bornagain Christains who have a relationship with Jesus Christ. Others have never been bornagain and do not have the Holy Spirit or spiritual discernment. Those are open to Satanic deception.

We must reject those who reject Christ as Lord and Savior regardless of what they call themselves.

And not allow their views of social ministry to restrain us from following our views.

Don't give up! God has won the battle and it's our duty to establish his Kingdom. It does look hard, and an uphill struggle. Pick something which you can really respond to - maybe it's ensuring that young girls are able to get advice on sex at Planned Parenthood, or perhaps it's promoting Human Rights in Saudi, or opposing the Death Penalty worldwide - and concentrate on that. We can't do everything, but we can do something!

I remember feeling crushed before the forces of evil when the Iraq war broke out. But God soon picked me back up and said that although we'd lost one battle with darkness, there were plenty more to be had. I'm now very interested in personal debt, and getting active for my local socialist party.

Girls getting advice from immoral sinners at Planned Parenthood! Hardly anything that honors Jesus Christ.

They are part of the problem... and to refer people to them is a sin.

Actually it is those young girls that need the very help that Planned Parenthood can provide - advice on sex, contraception etc. We can all honour God by informing teens about choices and giving them the facts. But it is important they have the knowledge to make the right decisions for themselves and be happy and safe with those decisions.

As for 'immoral sinners' - that describes us all! Yes, you are right that we are part of the problem, but education and knowledge is part of the answer! Glad you agree on that.

The advice they need is to obey God's Word: Wait until marriage before having sex, and stay faithful in marriage.

I'm going to have to disagree with you there. Jesus never said wait until marriage for sex. In fact such a thing would not appear in the Bible because 'getting married' meant, generally sex!

Anyway, on the basis that thousands of girls aren't Christians (or even some are!) will be having sex regardless of what Christians say, I think it's a good idea to educate them so they can be safe in their choices. There are even Christians who see sexual ethics as being faithful to a boyfriend or long term partner allows sexual activity. Again, I'd like to see those girls and boys have the education to handle those decisions.

The solution to bad morals is good morals... not accomodating bad morals.

Jesus never said don't use heroin or cocaine. Many non-Christians use these drugs. We should not accomodate these drug addcits by giving out free needles and telling them how to use drugs safely... or by legalizing bad behavior. See the analogy?

Same for drunkeness or cursing or hate or greed... or any vice.

Only one moral system has proven successful in lowering the new HIV infection rate: The abstinance-based and Bible-based ABC plan in Uganda.

And Jesus Christ does oppose sex outside of marriage both in the Old and New Testaments. The spirit of Jesus Christ inspired both. Thus He opposes sexual immorality.

But this only matters to a Christian. Not all who claim to saved really are. You cannot be in God's Kingdom unless you are first bornagain.

No, I don't. And actually, giving clean needle to drug addicts to protect them from HIV is not saying that you agree with their decision, but that regardless, you love them and want them to be clean from HIV etc. Sex is the same. I don't think telling non Christian girls not to have sex is going to have any effect, despite how right we feel it is. But equipping them with knowledge about contraception etc will prevent further mistakes. Besides, sex education isnt' too bad - married couples need contraception too!

Giving tea and toast out at the Union on a saturday night isn't about condoning activities, but about trying to prevent hangovers!

That may work on a very small scale. But a better availability of condoms, along with a socially acceptable use, will lower rates far, far more.

You didn't answer what I said, you just repeated your earlier statement. And I do not believe the Bible is a 21st century sexual ethics guide.
