There once was a member named Paul
Whose faith was incredibly small
With social skills poor
He became a bore
Even God started to yawn

(that last line needs to rhyme I know)

Oh Paul, I just found this thread. Ijust asked if we had to be all serious in here.
OK limerick coming up. Can I post my serious poems too? I wrote Sonnetsyesterday - because I rite them andI like a challenge!

There once was a man lost his horse,
Who decided to do a "Horse Course,"
He rode it again,
But was so fed up when
It threw him right off in the gorse. ( groan groan!)

left him with one resource

Here you go - a Sonnet (i can't write Sonnets but took the chalenge yesterday!)

The night draws slowly in, the sun goes down,
Red fills the sky and nourishes my soul,
Gone is the grey sky's ever darkening frown,
No longer do I hear the death bell's toll,
My sad heart leaps with untold joy again,
I know there's hope, the flame within me grows,
Fanned into life, that this new joy begins,
As summer greets the blooming of the rose,
Red like the sky, its petals wafer thin,
Holding their own in summer's falling rain,
I too, though frail can find the strength within,
To take me through this ever galling pain,
I watch the sunset fading in the sky,
And know I have no bitter tears to cry.

Another Sonnet that I wrote yesterday, by the fountain

Time

It seems to me that time has now stood still,
Though everything within me now has changed,
The fountain froths and bubbles still, until
I realise that now I am estranged,
What gave me joy untold now touches pain,
For nothing now feels safe and I do fear,
That now my life is shattered once again,
And nothing now can give me comfort here,
My energy all gone I weep my tears
That fly into the mighty fountain's flow,
And now the life it has it gives to me,
Its energy it pours into my soul,
I leave this place as time moves swiftly on,
Within my heart a very different song.
