has anyone here seen the musical jcsuperstar? if you have seen it do u think it stays pretty close to the bible?

I've seen the newer filmed version. I love the music, it's a very fab show. It's a shame it just ends where it does. It leaves no hope of the resurrection, which is very sad. As in John's Gospel, it is the death AND resurrection that are Jesus' glory, not just one or the other.

i dont think its very realistic compared with the scriptures, Jesus never speaks... he only spends time with mary, (last two points except for Last Supper Scene) and of course after he is arrested...

must say... it is one of the best musicals around... great catchy lyrics, and a superb story... how did Andrew Lloyd Webber come up wit it??

I was just singing one of the songs today at work... I have the movie... I had it ever since I was really young... my mom and sister and I use to watch it together all the time and sing with it!

my favorite is Jesus Christ, and Herods song... tho i only jave Jesus Christ on CD.. i remember Herods from the Stage. . though i do recognise "i Dont know how to love him is popular.

I have to agree wit kilted on this musical because it isnt very scriptural when it comes to mary, because the movie makes it seem like she loves him but scripturally she is just a follower of jesus.I have to admit that i love the musical and Andrew Lloyd Webber is certainly talented! But if you want the true story read GODS word, it never lies

Plus, it's supposed to be based on John's Gospel, yet has Mary as a prostitue. She isn't in John, just the sister of Lazarus, and a friend of Jesus. And where is Martha?

ooo lol a war! hehe....well ive seen the stage version of the video of this musical and its great, i really love it! glenn carter is a gr8 actor...i saw him live in 'whistle down the wind' a few weeks ago ... Jesus christ superstar is also touring the UK at the mo and hopefully going to see it late august ...i bought the soundtrack a few weeks ago too lol i know nearly all of it anyway!
