In those parts you quote in response to me about hating family members - you need to do some more research on what Jesus means there. In terms of leaving, he isn't talking about abandoning family members but about putting God first - particularly in face of family opposition. God would NEVER ask me to abandon my children to go and become a recluse but rather to guide them in His ways.

Hello HisWord,

It was 'normal' for me to put aside things of the world that
took too much of my time, and altered my focus on the Lord.
I've also had to learn how to love (agape) people without
compromising the things the Holy Spirit had made a reality
in me. It's a fine line to walk, but the Holy Spirit will teach.
Paul taught that we could gain every spiritual gift, but
profit nothing, without love. This love is not something
inherent to our nature... God has to provide it as we allow
Him to love through us.

Another important factor in all this is learning to discern God's
will, from our own will... even in 'godly' things. There can be
no 'self-life'... it's all about Him. 'Self-life' doesn't mean worldy
things only, but also includes our own dreams (even spiritual
dreams / desires).

I don't know you, or the things that are in your heart. I only
share what has been my experience, and trust you to the
power of the Holy Spirit. He is able to finish what He begins
in each of us.

Um, who says I am abandoning anyone? Who says I hate my family members? I know what those scriptures mean.

Did you know Christ couldn't heal that little twelve year old girl if He didn't kick certain people out of the house. You know why, because of DISBELIEF!

No, I didn't, mostly because the Bible doesn't say that anywhere. Jesus DID perform miracles in large crowds. Do you expect me to believe that those crowds contained 100% believers?

Agree with Big Country. It's not possible that Jesus was unable to heal in the presence of disbelief!
