• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Typing is much more easy than talking I think. Somtiems I can not talk. Somtiems I can push words out. Somtiems I can say a sentence. Even somtiems I can say sentences. I have lots of therepy for speaking.

Oh, it's definitely hard to beat the problems of autistic conditions. I had a huge problem with it until my late teens.

does your daughter talk to you with other ways?
She signs, but very little. Sometimes she reaches for things she wants. She has been determined to have a mental age of about 18 mos.

Her HFA brother (23yo) has been determined to have a mental age of 6-10yo. He lives in a group home, but visits us pretty regularly.

I live with my family. My family are my caregivers. There is a lady also. She comes to my house to help my sister. and my mum also.

I do not know about mental ages.

Your daughter has more dificulty than me. Does she have autism also?

It is good for your son that he is visiting. It is good for you also that he is visiting.

I am a adult but I am smart. I am in a class for people with disabilitys. Some people in my class have autism also.

My hardest parts are having tantrums. I can not stop them. I do not know that a tantrum will happen. then it happens and it is not a good thing also.

I use some signs. I am told to use my words. But somtimes I am lazy and signs are more easy. Somtiems I do not use my words and I do not use some signs. Somtiems I am just very tiered.
