I need prayers for my dad

I think my dad got the stomach flu this afternoon because he is really, really not feeling good and is nauseous and weak all over and he couldn't even help take care of mom tonight with me, so it's all on me tonight - feeding her, giving her meds, putting her to bed, everything - I just feel really overwhelmed and I hope that stomach flu is the "only" thing he has and that he's not hiding some heart condition just to assuage my fears. We normally split tasks and do some things together for mom but tonight I have 100% of the tasks. The caretaker lady for mom is done for the day.

I'm just really worried - all of a sudden.

Keep a close eye on him. Elderly can start out with a cold & it can quickly turn to pneumonia & such. Dr's. visit might be in order just to be safe.

he'll definitely go to the doctor if he gets worse...I suddenly feel like I don't know how to do anything I'm feeding my mom as I type though but still...I'm not good with this kind of stress

Nobody really is. You both have enough stress under everyday conditions.

My advise is just get him to the Dr.

Praying for you and your dad & mom. Make sure your dad doesn't get dehydrated--offer him some plain liquids like broth or sprite. (Maybe a few bites of a saltine cracker.)

Have him drink HOT tea.

Adding sugar is fine... but make sure he drinks it. Green tea or regular tetley or lipton is fine. It really helps a stomach.

thanks guys for your prayers, it means a lot. Even though I am frustrated by the circumstances surrounding my dad that I have talked about now and then, I get scared when I think anything is wrong with his health like this.

he says he is feeling a little better but that is probably because he just threw up a lot - I told him not to eat ANYTHING tonight - he tried to take some painkiller before he threw up and the painkiller threw out of his mouth along with everything else.

(((hugs Lady Bug))) Try giving him a few ice chips, you can give him a little one on a spoon. Oh and try cool cloths on his forehead.

praying for you ALL And dramamine is da' bomb when you have stomach flu...it dissolves really fast, stops you from puking, and knocks you out so you can sleep.
