Holy Fire.....

So somehow I came across a small article on the Holy Fire...... I believe it is a EO tradition, or "miracle" that happens every year I believe it said.. Can anyone tell me more about it? Has it been recorded on video at all?

Thank you very much.... I must admit I am really interested in this.. I am surprised from my studies over the past years that I have never read a lot about it. I vaguely remember hearing about it awhile back, but I am interested in it for sure.

you should also check out the miracle of Theophany, where the Orthodox celebrate the Baptism of Christ, and the Jordan river actually reverses and flows up hill.

If this happens every year, it is so strange that I have never heard a thing about it. Certain phenomena tend to be widely publicized, but this is practically secret.

yes, these happen every year. the Jordan river flows uphill when the Gospel is read over it for the Feast Day.

"What ailed thee, O thou sea, that thou didst flee: and thou, O Jordan, that thou wast turned back?"
"Quid est tibi mare quod fugisti et tu Iordanis quia conversus es retrorsum"


I notice on the river which runs through my home town (River Ribble) that at certain times the water appears to run up river. Must be to do with it being tidal.
Next time I see it with a camera handy I'll take some footage.

Is more noticable/impressive further upstream where it can be seen only to be travelling upstream. Not sure it is a bore I have seen...could be different phenomenon all together as the Ribble is pressing against the Irish Sea (part of the Atlantic).

Most famous example in the UK is the River Severn which regularly flows backwards at high tide: Severn bore

well, the one in the Jordan is not natural, since it only happens when the Gospel is read.

If it were true and is not explainable by natural laws, I may be more willing to accept such things as miracles.

Oh, it must have been happening before Jesus for the Psalmist to make note.
Saying that, I didn't see many frolicking hills last time I were in Palestine.
