Ezekiel was a prophet. John of Patmos was a fraud. Ezekiel describes the Temple, John of Patmos plays with riddles and games of germatria, I suspect it gave him something to do when he was isolated on Patmos. I am totally convinced that Revelation is not of God. But I don't expect to convince anyone, as they in the Western Church put it into the bible, after 500 years of hesitation, and now we are stuck with it.
It's in the bible, so it must be the Word of God.

Not the millennium, but the new earth: Isa. 65:20 could refer to a new race of humans created along with the new earth (Isa. 65:17), but which will fall into sin & mortality like Adam & Eve did. But even as mortals, they could live for ~900 years, like Adam & generations after him lived that long (Gen. 5:5-27), so that if 1 of them dies at 100 years old, it will be like he died in his youth (Isa. 65:20b). Isa. 65:20 can't refer to any humans born on our present earth, for by the time the new earth is created (Rev. 21:1), all humans born on our present earth who got saved & remained obedient will have been resurrected or changed into immortal bodies (Rev. 21:4, 1 Cor. 15:21-23,51-53, Rom. 8:23-25), & all who didn't get saved or who remained disobedient will have been cast into the lake of fire (Rev. 21:8, 20:10,15, 14:10-11, Isa. 66:22,24, Mt. 25:41,46, Mk. 9:45-46). The resurrected, immortal humans could minister to the new race of fallen, mortal humans (Isa. 65:20) in the same way angels now minister to us (Heb. 1:14), for resurrected, immortal humans will be equal to the angels (Lk. 20:36).
The Antichrist's (the AC's) android image (see post 15) could be placed standing in the holy place of a 3rd Jewish temple in Jerusalem, so that the image will become the abomination of desolation (Mt. 24:15, Dan. 11:31). And in order to make it easy for everyone in the world to be able to see the image & worship it (Rev. 13:15), it could appear on every cell phone, television, work computer, home computer, GPS navigation system, & electronic billboard at set times each day. And to make it possible for everyone to interact with it personally, it could appear as a computer generated image on each individual's cell phone, speaking in & understanding each individual's language, conversing with each individual with personalized messages & responses devised by supercomputers running artificial intelligence & language software.
And it could discuss with them even the most intimate details of their lives, for it could have access to huge databases compiled by the AC's worldwide intelligence, law enforcement, economic, & health agencies, databases containing all the facts about everyone: who their family & friends are, where they live & work, who their neighbors & coworkers are, how much they make, what cars & properties they own & use, where they go, where they shop, what they buy, where they eat out, what shows & videos they watch, what they read, what they say, what they write on the internet, what their health problems are, etc., so that the AC's image could seem to know everything about everyone.
And the worship of the image could be connected with a daily surveillance & subjugation of everyone. For the image's supercomputers could make his image automatically appear on everyone's cell phone at set times every day to be worshipped. Cell phones contain GPS chips which can be secretly pinged in order to determine the exact location of the cell phones. So when the image appears on everyone's cell phone, the image's supercomputers could ping the GPS chip of everyone's cell phone & know exactly where everyone is.
Also, cell phones contain cameras & microphones, which can be remotely opened secretly in order to see & hear what's going on around the cell phones. So when the image appears on everyone's cell phone, the image's supercomputers could open the cameras & microphones of everyone's cell phone to determine what everyone's doing & saying, & the image could then demand the individuals worship him as God, saying some set prayer of praise & adoration. And if any individual refuses, the image's supercomputers could detect that individual's non-compliance, & notify the nearest police officer of that individual's exact location, & order the officer to arrest that individual for blasphemy & treason. The offending individual could then be given a chance to be "reformed" (in a brainwashing camp, or through physical torture, if necessary), but if he proves recalcitrant he'll be executed (Rev. 13:15) by being beheaded (Rev. 20:4).

While each Christian's individual human body is a temple of God/the Holy Spirit (1 Cor. 6:19), it coexists with the figurative temple building of the church as a whole (Eph. 2:21), & with the literal temple building in heaven (Rev. 11:19), & with the temple of Jesus' individual human body (Jn. 2:21). And if each Christian's individual human body-temple can currently coexist with all these other temples of God, it will be able to coexist with the future, 3rd-earthly-literal temple building which the scriptures show will exist during the coming tribulation (Rev. 11:1-2, Mt. 24:15, Dan. 11:31,36, 2 Thes. 2:4), which 3rd temple building will be accepted by God as a valid temple, just as the 2nd temple building was accepted by God as a valid temple, even at the time of Jesus' 1st coming (Mt. 23:21) & even at the time of the early church (Lk. 24:53, Acts 22:17).
For the ultra-Orthodox Jews will build the 3rd temple, & will offer animal sacrifices in front of it, under the auspices of the Old Covenant Mosaic law (the OCML), which remains holy before God (Rom. 7:12). That's why God still keeps an ark of the OCML in his temple building in heaven (Rev. 11:19), & why it was possible for Paul 1 time to involve himself with the 2nd temple's OCML practices without him committing sin (Acts 21:20-26, 1 Cor. 9:20). This isn't to say the Jesus-denying motives of the ultra-Orthodox Jews will be holy before God, but that the OCML 3rd temple in itself & its animal sacrifices in themselves will be holy before God because the OCML in itself remains holy before God (Rom. 7:12), even though its letter is no longer meant to be practiced by people (Rom. 7:6) because the New Covenant has been inaugurated by Jesus & his once-for-all-time sacrifice on the Cross for our sins (Heb. 10:1-23, Mt. 26:28).
The six hundred & sixty-six in Rev. 13:17c-18 refers to the "number of the name" of the individual "man" who's the Antichrist (the individual-man aspect of the beast). The number of a name is determined by employing the ancient method of gematria, by which numerical values are assigned to the letters of any alphabet as follows: the 1st 9 letters are 1 through 9, the next 9 letters are 10 through 90 (counting by tens), & the rest of the letters are 100, 200, 300, etc., to the end of the alphabet. In Rev. 13:18, the "counting", the adding up, of the gematrial number of the Antichrist's name should be done in the same way the gematrial numerical values of the 3 Greek letters (Chi, Xi, & Stigma) at the end of Rev. 13:18 (in the original Greek Textus Receptus, the TR) are added up to arrive at the number six hundred & sixty-six. The numerical values of the letters of the ancient Greek alphabet (including the 3 obsolete letters of Stigma, Qoppa, & Sampi) were as follows:
Alpha = 1, Beta = 2, Gamma = 3, Delta = 4, Epsilon = 5, Stigma = 6, Zeta = 7, Eta = 8, Theta = 9, Iota = 10, Kappa = 20, Lambda = 30, Mu = 40, Nu = 50, Xi = 60, Omikron = 70, Pi = 80, Qoppa = 90, Rho = 100, Sigma = 200, Tau = 300, Upsilon = 400, Phi = 500, Chi = 600, Psi = 700, Omega = 800, Sampi = 900.
Just as the numerical values of Chi, Xi, & Stigma at the end of Rev. 13:18 (TR) add up to 666, so the numerical values of the letters in the Antichrist's name will add up to 666 (Rev. 13:17c-18). John used the Greek alphabet only because it was the most common 1 used by believers when Rev. was written. Today, the English alphabet is the most common 1 used by believers, insofar as English is the current lingua franca of the world. So the Antichrist's name will most likely add up to 666 in the English alphabet.

Rev. 9 prophesies events in the world's future.
Rev. 9's weird locust-like beings (vv. 7-10), & the subsequent army of 200,000,000 weird horse-like beings (vv. 16-19) could both be literal, & both be seen by the world as "aliens" come from other star systems, when in fact they could have evolved on this planet millions of years ago. The weird locust-like beings are currently living, or are in some state of extended hibernation, in the bottomless pit (Rev. 9:2-3,11), which may have a physical manifestation as a deep underground cavern. The top of this cavern could be deep under the city of Abadan (in Iran), just as the bottomless pit is under the angel Abaddon (Rev. 9:11). And because the weird horse-like beings will have to come from somewhere, & it could be difficult to keep 200,000,000 of them hidden on the earth, they could currently be living, or be in some state of extended hibernation, in hidden underground bases somewhere away from the planet, such as on the far side of the Moon, and/or on Mars (they could even be a source of the mysterious methane emissions which have been detected in places emanating from beneath the Martian surface).
The weird locust-like beings will swarm up from the bottomless pit of the earth to torment mankind with excruciating stings for 5 months (Rev. 9:2-10). The world could see them as "aliens" who'd been hibernating for thousands of years in a cavern deep underground. The locust-like beings won't kill anyone, but they'll make those they sting want to die the pain will be so bad (Rev. 9:5-6).
When the army of 200,000,000 weird horse-like beings comes upon the earth (Rev. 9:16-19), if they descend from the sky in spaceships, while the world could see them as a different race of aliens, the Antichrist (the AC) (the individual-man aspect of the beast) could (falsely) say they're YHWH's main army, come from heaven. In fact, they could be loyal to Lucifer/Satan. The 4 fallen angels (now bound at the Euphrates) who'll lead this army (Rev. 9:14-16) could employ it to make mankind completely desperate before its complete takeover by Lucifer (the dragon) & the AC mid-trib (Rev. 12:9-13:18). For when the weird horse-like beings start killing 1/3 of mankind (Rev. 9:16-19), then could also begin the biggest deception ever wrought upon mankind (besides the original one in Eden: Gen. 3). For the AC, who by that time could have managed to have been elected as the President of a Mediterranean Union formed by the joining of the European Union with an Arab Union stretching from Oman to Morocco, could announce to the world he's sent a mental distress call to (what he could call) "My Father, our Lord Lucifer, to come with his legions of angels & rescue mankind from this murderous army of YHWH".
It's at this point that Lucifer & his angels could be cast down out of heaven to the earth after losing a mid-trib war in heaven (Rev. 12:7-9). But instead of coming down as a defeated force, they could descend for all the world to see in gigantic, magnificent golden spaceships onto the "Champ de Mars" (Mars being the same as Marduk, the chief god of ancient Babylon), the large open area in front of the Eiffel Tower in Paris. And Lucifer, a literal, 7-headed dragon (Rev. 12:3,9) could emerge in great splendor & command his legions of angels to destroy the army of 200,000,000 weird horse-like beings. He could then confirm that he's come to rescue mankind because the AC, who he could say is his only-begotten "Son", called upon him (like in an AC counterfeit of Mt. 26:53). Lucifer & the AC could then be received wholeheartedly by the unsaved world as the saviors of mankind. And the unsaved world could be left thinking (mistakenly) that Lucifer & his angels were more powerful than even YHWH's main army.
Lucifer & the AC, along with the AC's miracle-working False Prophet (FP), will then deceive the world into actually worshipping Lucifer & the AC & a speaking (possibly android) image of the AC (Rev. 13:4-16, 19:20, 2 Thes. 2:4, Dan. 11:36). And everyone will be made to receive a (possibly scarification) mark of the AC either on their right hand or forehead, consisting of either the AC's name or some representation of the gematrial number of his name (666) (Rev. 13:16-18). After Lucifer & the AC have ruled the world for 3.5 literal years (Rev. 13:4-18), YHWH will send 7 vials (or bowls) of wrath against the unsaved world (Rev. 16). Near the end of these, unclean spirits like frogs will come out of the mouths of Lucifer, the AC, & the FP (Rev. 16:13), & these unclean spirits like frogs will go forth & perform amazing miracles to convince the world's armies to gather together at Armageddon (Har Megiddo: Mount Megiddo in northern Israel) (Rev. 16:16) to battle against YHWH himself (Rev. 16:14, 19:19). After gathering together at Armageddon, the armies will then travel south & pillage Jerusalem, right before Jesus (who is YHWH: Jn. 10:30) returns from heaven & defeats them completely (Rev. 19:11-20:6, Zech. 14:2-21).

If it's not of God - with all it's descriptions about the throne and worship of God, and the Lamb, and the defeat of Satan - where or who IS it from?
I'm the first to admit that I don't understand Revelation, but I have never been able to see it as a prophecy for the future, beyond the fact that Jesus is coming back.
John thought thatJesus would return in his lifetime, as did all the early church, and it seems to me that a lot of his language and imagery refers to what was happening at the time, or what he could see would happen in his immediate future. For example, I was told that the NT writers wrote 'Babylon' when they meant Rome, in case the document got into the wrong hands. I don't see how this means that, 2000 years later, a Christian denomination, which contains born again, Spirit filled believers (Francis McNutt and Mother Teresa were both Catholics) is, or will be, the Anti Christ - i.e anti Jesus. Yet some teach this.
I think it's far more likely to be our interpretation of Scripture which is wrong rather than the Word of God. Once you start thinking like that, the Bible becomes untrustworthy and fallible.

The Antichrist (the AC), during his future, literal 3.5-year worldwide reign (Rev. 13:5-18), won't support the RCC (in its past & current form), insofar as the RCC affirms Jesus is the Christ, whereas the AC will deny Jesus is the Christ (1 Jn. 2:22). And the RCC affirms Jesus is the Son of God, whereas the AC will deny Jesus is the Son of God (1 Jn. 2:22b). And the RCC affirms Christ is in the flesh, whereas the AC (like the Gnostics) will deny Christ is in the flesh (2 Jn. 1:7). And the RCC affirms the God of the Bible (YHWH) is the true God, whereas the AC (like the Gnostics) will utterly revile YHWH (Rev. 13:6, Dan. 11:36). And the RCC affirms the only man who's God is Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whereas the AC will say he (the AC) is God (2 Thes. 2:4, Dan. 11:36). And the RCC affirms Lucifer (Satan) is evil, whereas the AC will bring the world into the worship of Lucifer (the dragon) (Rev. 13:4, 12:9). So the AC's religion during his future, literal 3.5-year worldwide reign won't be the RCC's in its past & current form, but a blend of Luciferianism & Gnosticism.
Nonetheless, before Lucifer gives the AC power over all nations (Rev. 13:4-7), the AC, & the man who'll be his False Prophet (Rev. 19:20) (who could be a future, apostate pope), could at 1st pretend to wholly support Catholicism in its current form (as well as Christianity generally, & also Islam), in order to start gaining a worldwide following.
The beast which comes up out of the earth (Rev. 13:11-16) represents the individual man who will become the Antichrist's False Prophet (Rev. 19:20, 16:13). He could currently be a (secretly apostate) cardinal in the RCC, preparing himself to become the next pope. If he becomes the next pope, he could begin his tenure by making a great push for peace & unity between Christianity & Islam. He could say something like: "Why do we fight each other? Are we not all the spiritual children of Abraham and of his God, the one God? Can't we lay aside our foolish, man-made differences of theology, which have done us no good at all, but only brought us hatred and violence, and unite into one religion of Abraham, one religion of peace, based on love for the one God and love for our fellow man? What's more important than this?"
He could be so skillful in elucidating what the moderate Muslims could call "the true, peaceful, loving nature of Islam", that he could be hailed by them worldwide as (in their words) "A Great Imam, come to rescue our beloved Islam from the bad reputation falsely given to it by the terrorists". In this way, the next pope could come to hold high positions of power in 2 religions at the same time, which could be symbolized by the 2 horns of the False Prophet lamb (Rev. 13:11). This would be similar to how the 7 horns of the true-Jesus lamb in Rev. 5:6 could represent the true Jesus holding 7 positions of power at the same time (cf. Jesus wearing many crowns at the same time in Rev. 19:12). The False Prophet could even say he is Jesus. (But he won't say he's the Christ, for the False Prophet & the Antichrist will deny Jesus is the Christ & will deny Christ is in the flesh: 1 Jn. 2:22, 2 Jn. 1:7.)
Once the False Prophet by his amazing miracles has brought the world under his spell (Rev. 13:13-18, 19:20), including many Muslims & Christians who may not care much for scriptural dogma but could go wild over his signs & wonders, he could begin to (in his words) "restore to the world the real message which was spoken by me (Jesus) at my first coming, and by the great prophet Mohammed, but which message became corrupted by power-hungry men when they copied and changed the early manuscripts of the Bible and the Koran". He could then gradually initiate the world into the Antichrist's Gnostic Luciferianism (1 Jn. 4:3, Rev. 13:4-6), a religion which could have existed since ancient times in some "mystery" cults, & which still exists today in the highest degree of initiation of a worldwide secret society. The False Prophet could present his miraculously calling fire down from heaven (Rev. 13:13) as purported proof that Lucifer (the dragon, Satan) & the Antichrist are the true God (Rev. 13:4,8, 12:9). This would be a counterfeit of how the true prophet Elijah miraculously called fire down from heaven to prove that YHWH is the true God (1 Kin. 18:37-39).

While the corrupt aspects of Rome (& of other cities) are included in what the symbolic harlot "Babylon" (Rev. chs. 17-18) represents, she represents much more than just the corrupt aspects of Rome. For Rome just by itself doesn't reign over the kings of the earth (Rev. 17:18). Nor is Rome the only place where people buy merchandise (Rev. 18:11). Nor is Rome the place where all martyrs have been killed (Rev. 18:24). Nor has Rome just by itself corrupted the entire world (Rev. 18:3). Nor has Rome been continuously supported by the empires of fallen man throughout history (Rev. 17:7,9-10).
Rev's "Babylon" (Rev. chs. 17-18) represents all of mankind's corrupt political (Rev. 17:18), economic (Rev. 18:11), & religious (Rev. 18:24) systems throughout the earth (Rev. 18:3) & throughout history (Rev. 17:9-10). The 10 kings of the Antichrist's empire will destroy with fire all that "Babylon" represents (Rev. 17:16-17) when they destroy the cities of the earth (Rev. 16:19), possibly with nukes (& possibly with Fission-Fusion-Fission, "FFF", or "666", nukes, "F" representing the number 6 in English gematria), at the time of the 7th vial (Rev. 16:17,19), which will be the final event (Rev. 16:17) of the future tribulation of Rev. chs. 6-18, right before Jesus' 2nd coming (Rev. 19:2-20:6, Mt. 24:29-31). They could do this under the direction of Lucifer/Satan (Isa. 14:17,12), who could want to leave only a literal "scorched earth" for Jesus to return to.
Near the very end of the future tribulation, Lucifer (employing the ancient lies of Gnosticism) could say to the Antichrist & his 10 kings something like: "Our great battle against the evil god YHWH is about to begin [Rev. 16:14, 19:19], a battle which we'll win, and so we'll be able to escape YHWH's prison house, this material universe, & return to the wholly-spiritual Pleroma. So let us now completely destroy this awful prison cell, this foul planet, & let us, as it were, completely burn up all the gewgaws which we've hung upon our cell walls. Let us burn up all our great cities, all our magnificent systems. Let us break every chain of attachment to this vile material realm, that we might more freely ascend back into our rightful place in the blessed Pleroma".
Of course this will be a total lie. For at his 2nd coming, Jesus (who is YHWH: Jn. 10:30, Zech. 14:3-4) will completely defeat the armies of the world, arrayed against YHWH (Rev. 16:14, 19:19-21). And Jesus will have Lucifer bound in the bottomless pit during the subsequent millennium (Rev. 20:1-6). And Jesus will restore ruined parts of the earth & make them like the Garden of Eden (Ezek. 36:35, Isa. 51:3). And after the millennium & subsequent events are over (Rev. 20:7-15), God will create a new heaven (a new 1st heaven, a new sky/atmosphere for the earth) & a new earth (a new surface for the earth) (Rev. 21:1). And then God will descend from the 3rd heaven in the literal city of New Jerusalem to live with saved humanity on the new earth (Rev. 21:2-4).
