All 121 people on board a Cypriot airliner are feared dead after it plunged into a hill near Athens after an apparent drop in cabin pressure.

A text message sent from the plane said that the pilots were unconscious and passengers were freezing to death.

I think they were all dead, or at least unconscious before the plane hit the mountain then.

My thoughts and prayers go out to those affected by this unfortunate event. Being a relatively frequent flyer, this is a great fear I have everytime I fly. Cyprus will have 3 days of mourning as a result of this tragic accident.

I have never been able to sleep on a plane.

This company is in serious trouble. This plane was serviced for this problem
before and under went routine servicing just a week ago.

Many problems lead to this problem.
The Preasure sensors didn't warn the pilots soon enough, the plane failed to keep preasure. The pilots missed the symptoms of decompression.
Anyone of these could have spaired the lives.

If the pilots were awake when the alarm went off they could have went to a lower altitude, and ensured all passingers had oxygen on.
Sad

Story is getting worse.

Most passingers were wearing oxygen masks and alot froze to death.
The crew didn't get the oxygen in time.

It sounded alot better when they went uncontious in a few seconds then to freeze to death.
Definately sad.
