Soo.. I wanted to start a GPW/WWII thread (Great Patriotic War) because of my great interest and a few others.. also I'd liek to point out a few things 
First point shall be for our Canadien audience:
For those Canadiens among us.. did you know:
Your country actually landed in France before its capitulation, but retreated back to the UK because -according to the French all was all ready lost
Also Canadiens were not only at Normandy, a fact often overlooked by many historians who focus on the British and Americans, the Canadiens were the only ones who secured all of their assigned objects for their beachhead.
Further more... the Canadiens produced a very large quantity of munitions and other wares for the British while they stood alone before the Americans ever started.. a fact sadly forgotten by money.
And finally.. Canadiens actually did indeed fight against the Japanese also- but only at one battle..
