If you had read the article, you would have seen that the research involved the use of stem cells from rat embryos.

The stem cells helped rats with severed spinal cords walk again.

No one would have any moral reason for disapproving of this research (except, perhaps, PETA, which would be upset that rats had their spinal cords severed in the name of research.)

What is true is that stem cell research is taking place outside the US. There is a massive exodus of some of our finest biological scientists to Europe and Asia right now, because they are unable to do research here.

These preliminary stem cell studies in American colleges may help us keep our best and brightest young scientists a little longer.

Fine. Let them go elsewhere to carry out this kind of research. Just keep my tax money out of it.

Articles on this subject are filled with lots of "ifs" and "maybes" and "perhaps" when adult stem cell and cord blood research are already paying off in benefits - www.stemcellresearch.org.

Funding embryonic stem cell research is merely buying a pig in a poke.

And the point is? Sorry but embryonic stem cell research is just wrong.

why???.....Does a Embyronic stem cells "life" outweigh that of a Human that is slowly dying and suffering from a Illness that could be cured from Embyronic stem cell therapy??? could you sit there and look that person in the eye and tell them that a Embyronic stem cell is more Important then they are?

This is a EXACT copy o the post that you posted on the other thread about stem cells....And once again I wil say tha the website you have posted is very ANTI stem cell reasercha nd has twisted and politicked the stats and Info. into thier favor to suit thier agenda. there are numerous site that are Unbiased when it comes to the topic of Embyronic stem cell reaserch and the promise that it holds....People once thought that supporting Jonas Saulk and his Vaccne attempts at Polio were a waste of money also....

Excuse me, but the article in question is discussing rat stem cells.

There is no harm in American scientists doing experiments on rats with rat stem cells.

Their research may provide a springboard for scientists in other countries, but their research is on animals, and at least it keeps American scientists in touch with the global scientific community, and keeps American scientists working in America.

The reaction to the word "stem cell research" seems almost Pavlovian....isn't it best to find out exactly what kind of stem cells are being talked about before condemning it out of automatic reflex?
