So as those over on some of the political forums may know, I have been pretty enthusiastic about the freedom convoy in Canada and other places around the world and have been paying close attention to the one that started up here in the U.S. this past week. But throughout all of the excitement, my mind kept going back to that song that Jerry Reed sang, "East Bound and Down" for the movie Smokey and the Bandit back in 1977 (and in which he also had a major acting role.)
Jerry Reed has always been one of my favorites since I was a very small child and I even saw him live at our State Fair back in the days before they became super formal and commercialized. Smokey and the Bandit has been one of my favorite movies too and has seemingly outlasted the test of time, at least for me.
Anyway, this video came up in my feed this morning and I thought I'd post it here for some good memories of good times. It has a small introduction that sets up the scene and then gets right into the music.
I just love this song. <3
