Trying to edit a thread title and when I click on Thread Tools the only option that comes up is: Add a poll.
probably part of the site revamp to move more member priviledges to the paying customers.

I was not able to edit thread titles of my own when I was a member since like 2012. And every time I was staff I was asked to do it for people because they could not. Could people edit their titles of threads in the last few years as a common practice? I think it has changed on and off with the software over the years.

Yeah, as recently as about 6 months ago people were asking me to change their thread titles. I noticed that people were editing their own recently.

Michie is already a site supporter. And they don't have any privileges besides not seeing ads.

was that thread posted this tuesday, the 27th?
if so, a thread that i started on the 23rd did not have that edit title feature;
only the 'add poll' as Mitchie has said.

edit: just checked. the thread was begun on Feb2, 2016.

did a search in IT, and one interesting tidbit of info that came up is that threads that are over 30 days old cannot be edited.
(doesn't help if we don't have an edit box, but if we do get one it's something good to know.)

These questions are beyond my ability to answer, however, in all honesty, I thought it was only Staff that could edit a Title. Reason being, once the title was changed, everyone would cease to get notifications of posts and thread updates, as these are tied to the original post title and the date stamp. If one or the other changes, notifications start over from that point.

Again, it's my understanding that if I posted after a title change, no one in the thread would be notified that I posted. If someone after me posted, only I would get a notification.

The currency and the dynamic of the thread would be halted.

I hope this helps.
