Do not hate the sinner; for we are all laden with guilt. If for the sake of God, you are moved to oppose him, weep over him. Why do you hate him? Hate his sins and pray for him, that you may imitate Christ Who was not wroth with sinners, but interceded for them. Do you not see how he wept over Jerusalem. We are mocked by the devil in many instances, so why should we hate the man who is mocked by him who mocks us also. Why, O man, do you hate the sinner? Could it be because he is not so righteous as you? But where is your righteousness when you have no love?

"Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do." (in Luke 23:34)

"And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma." (Ephesians 5:2)

So, He loved sinners, and He was sweet about it.

that you may imitate Christ Who was not wroth with sinners, but interceded for them.
Well, there were times when Jesus was very angry at Pharisaical people. But He did and said things which could help people to get out of their self-righteous stuff. And now we can be helped by things Jesus said to criticize the Pharisaical people.

Jesus is not conceited! Jesus who is God's own Son came here on this earth, in order to reach us and save us. Jesus who is so superior to us and better than us is not at all stuck-up about it. And this is our example of how being humble needs to include how we are un-conceited with any and all people, and feed the example of this to problem people so they can be affected by our good example.

Have hope for any impossible person > love "hopes all things" > in 1 Corinthians 13:7.

And yes, Jesus nows intercedes for us > Romans 8:34. Jesus prays for us according to His faith! :)

“Love sinners, but hate their deeds, and do not disdain sinners for their failings, so that you yourself do not fall into the temptation in which they abide… Do not be angry at anyone and do not hate anyone, neither for their faith, nor for their shameful deeds… Do not foster hatred for the sinner, for we are all guilty… Hate his sins, and pray for him, so that you may be made like unto Christ, who had no dislike for sinners, but prayed for them” – St. Isaac the Syrian (Homily 57,90)
