Did You know Pure bred Golden Retrievers are not PURE?

Golden Retriever original bloodlines were, Tweed Water Spaniel, Flat Coated Retriever and the pup form that mating was then crossed with a tweed water spaniel, then the pup form the 3 litter was matted to a flat coated retriever and so on.

Later on Irish setter was added and then a touch of Bloodhound

is this not true of alot of breeds we have today ? im sure ive seen programmes about the history of dogs and breeding in the past, either way goldens are still the best wouldnt you say ?

It's true with every breed. The only difference is how long it's actually been a "breed". You can get fairly new breeds such as the Toy Fox Terrier which is, ultimately, a mix of Fox Terriers, Italian Greyhounds with some Chihuahua thrown in, to the older breeds like some of the terriers and hounds, which is anybody's guess as to what was used to create them.

Golden Retievers are nice dogs they are great for people with small kids and other pets. I how ever love German Shepherds.

Well, *technically* they all started off as wolves. No breed of dog sprang up "fully formed," as it were.

Alot of pure breds were bred into a new class by way of breeding two types with each other. Pure bred is how much blood they have that is that breed.

If they breed true down the lines, then they are considered "pure" ... all dogs are mixed with different breeds to gain the good qualities wanted.

The Doberman Pincher is man-made(man had two different breeds mate). Not sure about the Golden Retrievers.

I think dogs usually mate with their own kind, kinda like every other thing on the planet. No?
