Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I present to you (attached) a book review in three parts.

The reviewed work is St Augustine's "Confessions", a autobiographical work from the 3rd Doctor of the Church.

The work was written between 397 and 400 AD.

The first part of this review is based on the first three books, being:

Book 1 - St Augustine's childhood

Book 2 - St Augustine' adolescence

Book 3 - His trip to Carthage for study

Sincerely, Uriel.

Below are the links to my previous book reviews.

"The Book of Pastoral Rule" - St Gregory the Great (review)

"On the Duties of the Clergy - Book 1" - St Ambrose

"On the Duties of the Clergy" - St Ambrose - Book II

"On the Duties of the Clergy" - St Ambrose - Book III

Thank you so much!

If I might make a request, I would love to see you do a review of De Incarnatione and the Vita Antonis by St. Athanasius the Great of Alexandria, also a Doctor of the Church, and the Conferences of St. John Cassian, and perhaps some of the writings of the Cappodacians; I believe St. Basil the Great and St. Gregory Nazianzus are also Doctors of the Church), and also perhaps a review of some of the writing of St. Vincent of Lerins, and some of the hymns or metrical homiies of St. Ephrem the Syrian.

St. Vincent of Lerins coined the phrase “"Moreover, in the Catholic Church itself, all possible care must be taken, that we hold that faith which has been believed everywhere, always, by all,” in his classic The Comminitory ; he is one of my favorite Latin Fathers along with St. Ambrose of Milan, Pope St. Gregory the Great, St. Isidore of Seville, St. John Cassian, and Pope St. Celestine (who helped Pope St. Cyril the Great of Alexandria depose Patriarch Nestorius of Constantinople and also was crucial in the anathematization of Pelagianism).
