I just read this in th news. Europe is abandoning it's Catholic roots in many places. Sadly, the thought of this in the future, is...statistically, not impossible.

I don't think it will happen the way this cleric views it, but population trends and Catholic apathy might do the job that crackpots want violence to accomplish.

Rome is not simply the capital of Catholics. It is the premier see of Christendom, and it is one of the world's holiest cities. Islam may have conquered Jerusalem, but it has failed to hold it; it may have conquered Alexandria, but the See of St. Mark survives still. Rather then indulge in fantasies about what will not be, this cleric should ponder why so many of his young people are so consumed with hate that they act in violation of their own religion.

Peace,

Anglian

Amen. And our prayers to those in the See of St. Mark. Those who suffer for the love of Christ and have carried many burdens in the name of love.

May they be preserved by the Love of Christ and all the great saints we don't see in the west. St. Mina, St. Bishoy, St. Simon the Tanner and St. Mark. May the great friendship between Peter and Mark remind Catholics to always pray for our brothers and sisters in Egypt, who have suffered greatly for their faith...yet remain strong in it. If the Lord sends us trial, may we persevere in His love as they have.

I suspect any take over Europe will be by one extremist practicing pair of parents at a time. I think we would do well to focus on helping those of the EU re-join their faith rather than focus against Islam.

That said, I do keep several thousand rounds of ammunition in the house.

Bet this is related to Jimmy Carter's trip to visit with Hamas last week. Carter gave them standing and enboldened them. Hamas is probably feeling confident it has plenty of allies in the USA after seeing the publicity earlier this month about Barack Obama's church publishing its manifesto.

Hear here everyone! Think on these things:

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee. Psalms 122:6

Pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you Matthew 5:44

Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest. Matthew 9:38

When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand. )
Pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day Matthew 24:20

Pray, that ye enter not into temptation Matthew 26:41
Pray that ye enter not into temptation. Luke 22:40

Pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man. Luke 21:36

Pray that your brethren’s faith doesn,t fail. Luke 22:32

Pray for them that the Father has given the Son; for they are the Father’s and all that are the Son’s are the Father’s and all that are the Father’s are the Son’s and the Son is glorified in them. John 17:9-10

Pray that God will keep all of his people from the evil in the world. John 17:15

Pray for those which shall believe on Jesus through their word; That they all may be one; as God the Father, is in the Son of God, and the Son of God in God the Father, that they also maybe one in us: that the world may believe that the Father has sent the Son. John 17:20

Dear Davidnic,

Your kind and generous words about the See of St. Mark are a healing balm. Long have we held to the Faith once received, and the way the Muslims have treated the Copts gives the lie to their claim that they just want equal tolerance.

The reason some Muslims take the view they do of Pope Benedict and Rome is that they see where the true centre of resistance to their evil is. Long may the Holy See act as a beacon to the world.

In Christ,

Anglian
