I understand what Han is saying every policy has an effect. I think America needed to be in the war because of how much Hitler had taken plus the Japanese in China.
When World War 2 drew in the USA, I have little doubts that my nation was justified in declaring war upon Japan and Germany.

I was saying we had no business in WW1, but even if my speculation is right, it's not clear that Japanese expansionism wouldn't have still cause war between Japan and the US. If there is a Hitler running Germany and invading other countries, then the absence of the US in WW1 wouldn't have changed anything but the US death toll 1917-1918 (and possibly the expansion of the "Spanish" Flu.
