God resists the proud and exalts and gives grace to the humble:
1 Peter 5:5
Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.
1 Peter 5:6: Humbel yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time.

Christian freedom doesn't mean anything goes. We are not to do anything to offend another younger or sensitive Christian by our example.
I.E. I should go into a liquour store right after teaching my teenagers that being drunk is wrong.

Often a Christian is weak. ie: alcoholic
Drinking around them...offering them a drink...can cause them to stumble.
