Most of your OP is directed toward believers who are being reconciled to God by and through our faith.
Your second sentence speaks of Christ reconciling the world but then you immediately move to addressing believers.
The fact is, Christ reconciled the world back to God. Christ needed to defeat death first, as well as providing a sacrifice for the forgiveness of sin.
That reconciliation then makes it possible for anyone to believe and share in all that it means to be IN Christ. Belief is how a person can reconcile himself to God.

You range from that to making it sound like Clare is saying works ARE the righteousness. What is the purpose of the HS conviction on the unbeliever?
Why is conviction of the HS even needed?
