Define "unsaved" - people that have willfully rejected Christ or those that have no knowledge of Christ? God is holy and will judge with justice according to the available measure of revelation they had and their response to it, expressed through their deeds, words and thoughts. Salvation is through Christ, clearly, and Romans is pretty keen on the fact that God has put within people a basic awareness of Himself.

Paul notes that people have not accepted this small amount of light and followed it...for the most part. His remarks were not absolute, though the case could be made that the proportion being spoken of is small.

However, the Bible is full of examples where those that had never heard of Christ that were saved for a variety of reasons...Hebrews 11 is a fairly lengthy example. There are, likewise, OT figures that were saved even outside of being the people of Israel. Did they respond affirmatively to the small amount of revelation that they had and was Christ's atontement conferred retroactively? Part of His death and resurrection was - in fact - the harrowing of Hell.

Of course the typical response to the above is that it renders missionary activity redundant...which is ridiculous. Christ commanded it...He is the final revelation and the message of salvation is to be proclaimed to all corners of the earth. The above, of course, is a temporary solution as eventually all will hear...until then, what?

So, again, who are the unsaved?

Thankfuuly we don't have to worry about it. It is God who is and always has been the estimater of hearts as to who love him and who don't. The Holy Scriptures are full of people who were not part of God's covenanted people (the Jews) yet still had reasons to feel blessed by God. Think of Rahab and Ruth. One was a Canaanite and the other a Moabite, peoples that were at some time or another at war with Israel. Yet God allowed these fine women to be ancestors of Jesus Christ. Why? Because they showed fine heart conditions and were willing to change.

Remember when Jesus spoke about eating his flesh and drinking his blood and that these things were true food and drink? Some of his followers were so shocked they stopped following him for good. Will they be in the Book of Life? Three things determine whether or not a person is in the Book.

1) Are they in God's memory? If so, they will be in the Book.
2) Death equates us of our sin. Yet the final decision for resurrection is God's.
3) If God personally ends someone's life. They will not be in the Book.

All those who are in memorial tombs will be raised up, the Bible says. Those who did good things to a resurrection of life but those who did vile things to a resurrection of judgement. As God is just and merciful, all the judgements handed down will be correct.

Revelation 3:5 - Are the unsaved in the book of life?
According to Daniel 12, which was actually written concerning the OC Jews, only those who call upon the the One and Only True Savior, Jesus Christ, will be saved.

But this passage in Dan 12 seems to be referring to the both the Great Tribulation and Wrath/Fury mentioned in the Olivet Discourse and Revelation.....Interesting

http://www.scripture4all.org/

Daniel 12:1 And in that time, Miyka'el shall standup, the Chief, the Great, the One-standing over sons of people of thee.
And a time of tribulation/qliyewv/#2347 becomes, which not occurred from to become of a Nation, until the time, that.
And in that time, thy People shall escape/be saved, every-of the one who is found Written in Scroll. [Matthew 24:21/Romans 9:27]

Matt 24:21 "For then shall be Tribulation/qliyiV <2347> Great, the such as not has become from beginning of World til of the now, neither not no may be becoming

Matt 10:22 And ye shall be being hated by all thru the Name of Me. The one yet enduring into a-finish/teloV <5056>,this one shall be being saved/swqhsetai <4982> (5701) [Daniel 12:1/Reve 15,16]

Reve 15:1 And I visioned another sign in the Heaven, great and marvelous. Messengers seven, having stripes/blows seven, the last, that in them is-finished/etelesqh <5055> (5681) the fury of the God.

Kindgdom Bible Studies Lambs Book of Life Part 1

......According to the Emphatic Diaglott the correct rendering of the latter part of this passage is: "The Book of the Life of the Lamb." Now, what is meant by this term – THE BOOK OF THE LIFE OF THE LAMB? The wise man said, "...of the making of many books there is no end..." (Eccl. 12:12)............

Reve 13: 8 and shall be worshipping to him all the ones dwelling upon the land of whom not has been written the name in the Scroll of the Life of the Lambkin, of the one having been slaughtered/slain from down-casting of world.

Scripture is clear that some will perish. Universalism is not Christian.
Including these "shifty" characters in Reve 19 and 20.

Did anyone notice that the Gospel of Luke is the only place in the NT/NC outside of Revelation where the greek word for "lake" is used....

Lake mentioned 11 times. 5 times in Luke [Luke 5:1,2 8:22,23,33] 6 times in Revelation

http://www.scripture4all.org/

Reve 19:20 and is arrested the beast and with it the false prophet, the one doing the signs in view of it in which has deceived the ones getting the mark of the beast and the ones worshipping to the image of it. Living were casted the two into the Lake of the Fire of the one burning in sulphur.

Reve 20:10 And the Devil, the one-deceiving them, was cast into the Lake of the fire and of sulfur, the where-are the beast and the false-prophet, and they shall be being tormented day and night into the Ages of the Ages.

Revelation 3:5 - Are the unsaved in the book of life?

No. From the beginning of time God has elected His remnant. There are two classes of people who exist in the world those who are elect (those who have moved on to the Church Triumphant, those who are in the Church Militant, and those who have yet to hear the call) and those who are reprobate and have no hope of salvation.

Hence the need for fervent evangelism, and accurate biblical training, so that the sheep may hear the shephards voice.

We may think a person may be unsaved but in the Book of Life, God knows. We will be surprised when we get into heaven when we see someone that we assumed that they are in hell.

Being a Christian is being a person whose primary form of witness is by their spiritual life, but they do not hide the fact that they are Christians and that they show their spiritual light through deeds first and then words. God holds us accountable for what we believe as well as how we think about the truth He has revealed. I see many give "lip-service" to the importance of doctrine and frown upon doctrinal discussions.

I don't believe in universalism. Do some perish because it's God's will or because they chose to reject Christ?

In Revelation 3:5, is Jesus speaking to the saved or the unsaved?

Within Judaism the idea started as the Book or Books of the living in which all those who have been given life by God are recorded. As we progress through the Old Testament there is the idea of someone being blotted out of the book of the living when they die. By the New Testament times the idea is honed further so that the Book of Life is the record of all who are elect in Jesus Christ. I believe all of these concepts are correct. God does "record" all to whom he gives life. The soul that sins, it shall die and those are blotted from the Book(s). At the end, all the names recorded in the Lamb's Book of Life are the elect.

So is it possible for the saved to have their names blotted out of the book of life according to Rev. 3:5?

Those that have no hope for salvation, is it because God does not offer them salvation, or because they rejected salvation?

I cannot be completely dogmatic about those who have never heard the Gospel, but as for those who hear and reject and continue to reject are passing up salvation, it is possible for the saved to walk away from the faith and completely disavow God or live with without faith and so blot themselves out.

I don't believe in universalism. Do some perish because it's God's will or because they chose to reject Christ?

In Revelation 3:5, is Jesus speaking to the saved or the unsaved?

I believe in the free will of men to respond to the grace of God.
