I'm always leary of people who seek to find fault in the church...but I know you mean well sis...
it's interesting that in the parable you mention that the bride is not mentioned..her condition her anticipation when she is taken her joy etc...
..and it's interesting that the 5 virgins which were ready gave bad advice to the other 5 told then to leave and bye more ...they did not share their light with them...
The parable also suggest 2 different callings... it is assumed that the bride and the 5 virgins left at the same time ,,,when in fact it may be at two different times...that the bride went first....then the call for the virgins second..
.oil represents having light not the holy spirit....it is a strange teachings to say to 5 virgins go and bye the holy spirit...first you cannot bye the holy spirit...and second it's not fair that these who went seeking the Lord's spirit for them to miss it as if they could not find him....yet the bible says seek and you shall find...all one has to do is ask...
The oil in this case represents light...my people perish for lack of knowledge
Was the dream individually based for u or to be used corporately? If people brag about the dreams and visions they get then God may very well not allow them to see them anymore. I speak of my dreams and visions not to brag or for any kind of attention or glory but because my heart leads me to speak of them and what these dreams and visions do for people is up to God.
You guys realize that hasatan or Satan can give dreams...., we are in spiritual warfare.... We have to be bersans n test everything enlight of scripture.... Many will come in my name n decieve many.... How many Christians say they are Christians n I had a vision!? Not saying u but many want to be more
Ya that's what I get for jumping in on the conversation
dang i forgot about thatLOL , It happens to the best of us. Also did you notice the tag at the top that says pre-trib only? If you believe the rapture happens before the actual tribulation happens, then this thread is for you, and welcome . If you do not believe in a rapture, or you believe the rapture happens after the tribulation, there are other threads with similar tags that address those viewpoints.
You know, I had to think about this so I decided to look up some commentary on the ten virgins. I had always been taught that they represent the church. In this commentary Matthew Henry agrees that they represent the church, but also agrees with you that knowledge is what the five foolish lacked. Here it is.
Matthew Henry's Concise Commentary
25:1-13 The circumstances of the parable of the ten virgins were taken from the marriage customs among the Jews, and explain the great day of Christ's coming. See the nature of Christianity. As Christians we profess to attend upon Christ, to honour him, also to be waiting for his coming. Sincere Christians are the wise virgins, and hypocrites the foolish ones. Those are the truly wise or foolish that are so in the affairs of their souls. Many have a lamp of profession in their hands, but have not, in their hearts, sound knowledge and settled resolution, which are needed to carry them through the services and trials of the present state. Their hearts are not stored with holy dispositions, by the new-creating Spirit of God. Our light must shine before men in good works; but this is not likely to be long done, unless there is a fixed, active principle in the heart, of faith in Christ, and love to God and our brethren. They all slumbered and slept. The delay represents the space between the real or apparent conversion of these professors, and the coming of Christ, to take them away by death, or to judge the world. But though Christ tarry past our time, he will not tarry past the due time. The wise virgins kept their lamps burning, but they did not keep themselves awake. Too many real Christians grow remiss, and one degree of carelessness makes way for another. Those that allow themselves to slumber, will scarcely keep from sleeping; therefore dread the beginning of spiritual decays. A startling summons was given. Go ye forth to meet Him, is a call to those prepared. The notice of Christ's approach, and the call to meet him, will awaken. Even those best prepared for death have work to do to get actually ready, 2Pe 3:14. It will be a day of search and inquiry; and it concerns us to think how we shall then be found. Some wanted oil to supply their lamps when going out. Those that take up short of true grace, will certainly find the want of it one time or other. An outward profession may light a man along this world, but the damps of the valley of the shadow of death will put out such a light. Those who care not to live the life, yet would die the death of the righteous. But those that would be saved, must have grace of their own; and those that have most grace, have none to spare. The best need more from Christ. And while the poor alarmed soul addresses itself, upon a sick-bed, to repentance and prayer, in awful confusion, death comes, judgment comes, the work is undone, and the poor sinner is undone for ever. This comes of having oil to buy when we should burn it, grace to get when we should use it. Those, and those only, shall go to heaven hereafter, that are made ready for heaven here. The suddenness of death and of Christ's coming to us then, will not hinder our happiness, if we have been prepared. The door was shut. Many will seek admission into heaven when it is too late. The vain confidence of hypocrites will carry them far in expectations of happiness. The unexpected summons of death may alarm the Christian; but, proceeding without delay to trim his lamp, his graces often shine more bright; while the mere professor's conduct shows that his lamp is going out. Watch therefore, attend to the business of your souls. Be in the fear of the Lord all the day long.
Let us just say we see it differently.in content of the parable...the bride is one married to christ...the 10 virgins are not ..they are wedding guest....they await the bridegroom call to enter

Certain ones are for me specifically only because it is something between father and I that we would understand but most of the time I have always felt lead to share what he shows meWas the dream individually based for u or to be used corporately?
Oh I all to aware how satan can give dreams like I said earlier in this thread he has pretending to be Jesus at least twice to fool me and he and I also had kind of wrestling match as well which I think if I shared it it might give an idea how we are and how he works so I think I can share this one.You guys realize that hasatan or Satan can give dreams...., we are in spiritual warfare.... what are you thinking?
The virgins are the bride. The ones who are sleeping and not watching their "oil" is the sleeping church and lukewarm (and possibly even false Christians), versus the virgins who are always on the lookout and are ready. These virgins are those of are active in their church-body, they actively seek Him in their alone time, and also spread the gospel. The sleep church does none of this.
Also: Matthew 22, the parable of the wedding feast, this is an example of both the wedding guests and the post-wrath theory.

I agree with this in part. I do not subscribe to post wrath theory. And this IS a pre-trib thread so maybe another thread would be in order. IMHO the wedding feast shows the Pre-trib rapture and the plight of those left behind.
In the Christians world a man must have one wife ...not 10 ...are you referring to a mid Eastern wedding where the bridegroom has made a covenant with 10 brides ?...if so how is it he would not come for them and not know them if he made a covenant with them...it makes no sense
It says they all fell asleep but 5 left the party to get more oil and miss the meeting
