Always firmly believed in the OT as genuine and historical. It bothers me Christians suggest it wasnt - but folklore. Especially since Jesus spoke of it as reality.

If nothing else Catholicism teaches innerancy. If there's anything I could care less for in the Catholic Church (and I've seen it in Orthodoxy and Protestantism too) It's the condescending Theistic Evolutionist that treats you like dirt for believing literally the Genesis Creation account.
Evolution's great but it hasn't been proven and it doesn't account for everything. (I'm not currently sure what I believe about it, but I was raised YEC)
