"Here are some of the things occurring at the base, as told by Schoenfeld, and confirmed independently by both the MRFF anda military newspaper:

  • In her time at Epes Dental Clinic she was actually and specifically accused of “witchcraft” and “bringing demons into the office.” She has been officially advised that she is not allowed to know who her accusers are.
  • She has been openly disparaged for not having the same religious views as her superiors (Evangelical Christian) and being “uninterested in taking part” in Christian rituals or the rampant and rapacious, workplace-based, Evangelical Christian proselytizing which is outrageously and comprehensively supported by her former command.
  • She has been admonished that practicing yoga is “Satanic” and will “cost (her) her soul”.
  • She was advised by her chain of command to pray against the recent Supreme Court ruling against same sex marriage, as it is “an abomination to their religion”.
And finally:

“Her career has been unjustly and abruptly derailed and terminated by a literal ‘witch hunt’ within your command.”

It's only discrimination if it's aimed at a member of the majority religion of a country. If they follow a minority religion and they want to avoid discrimination, then why don't they just move to a country with a Hindu majority?

America was founded on the basis of the tyranny of the majority. If these people don't like it they should go back to their own country.

Wow. Just think of the people who'd be clamoring to jail her if she had been a Christian instead of a Hindu! It goes without saying that she'd be dismissed from her position, since Christian CHAPLAINS have been dismissed for mentioning Jesus! That's right...No one cares to hear about that.

Well... I'm going to ask for a citation on that one, I think...

That's fair!
If the military can court martial a Christian woman because she dared put scripture on her computer monitor, a pagan is worthy of firing.Equal rights in religious persecution in the U.S military.

Of course this just proves the Air Force confirms demons exist now. :sorry:

No idea why people would throw a hissy over some he said/she said story with no clue about what the actual facts are, preferring instead believe whatever conveniently supports their beliefs/hissy/whatever, but to each their own.
Well, there are witnesses in this case...

When was a woman court martialed for putting a Bible quote on her screen? I admit I haven't read the entire USCMJ, but I don't think that's in there.

Oh, the details help. It turns out that she it wasn't her personal computer, it was a group computer used by others. And it wasn't electronic text on her screen, it was multiple copies of Bible verses printed out in paper and taped in prominent places. And she was asked several times to remove them from the common use area, and she refused. And in 28 point font.

Sounds like she was making a hostile environment for anyone who came into the area or used the computer who was of another faith.

She was Christian, black, and a Marine.
Marine prosecuted for putting bible verses on her desktop

By Michal Ortner

Lance Corporal (LCpl) Monifa Sterling was criminally prosecuted at a court-martial for displaying a Bible verse on her desktop while serving at Camp Lejune in North Carolina. While representing herself in court, Sterling referenced her First Amendment right for religious expression and the protection that the Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA) offers her.

Both the trial and the appellate court claimed that the display of the Bible verse did not fall under the RFRA because it is not considered a religious act. Sterling and the Liberty Institute lawyers who now represent her disagree.

“If the government can order a Marine not to display a Bible verse, they could try and order her not to get a religious tattoo, or go to church on Sunday,” says Mike Berry, the Liberty Institute Director of Military Affairs and Sterling’s senior counsel. “Restricting a Marine’s free exercise of religion is blatantly unconstitutional.”

LCpl Sterling and other service members at Camp Lejune were accustomed to posting personal items in their workstations. In three different locations, Sterling taped Isaiah 54:17, which states, “No weapon formed against you shall prosper.”

Sterling’s supervisor and former drill instructor took issue with the Scripture and ordered that she take the down the verse immediately, and allegedly used profanity during the demand. When Sterling questioned the request, her supervisor said, “I don’t like the tone.” Sterling said that she would not remove the Bible verse because it was her constitutional right to display it.

The following day, Sterling was charged with disobeying a direct order and her Bible verse was forcibly removed from her station.

“If a service member has a right to display a secular poster, put an atheist bumper sticker on their car, or get a Star of David tattoo,” explains Berry, “then Lance Corporal Sterling has the right to display a small Bible verse on her computer monitor.”

“This is a very scary time when you are not allowed to have a very small printed Bible verse in your own personal workspace because it might offend other Marines,” said Hiram Sasser, an attorney with the Liberty Institute.

Sterling was discharged for bad conduct and stripped of rank from Lance Corporal to Private. She says that it has been difficult to find a job because of her history of bad standing with the military. The Liberty Institute is hopeful that the charges against Sterling will be removed.

.... an attorney with the Liberty Institute.

Why does the "Liberty" institute think it is OK to lie? Did they forget our Commandments? The article posted earlier shows that in reality, this was a group workstation (not just "hers"), and that it was in 28 point font, which certainly isn't "small", and that there were three copies, not "a" copy.

Compare this to the OP. Yes, she was prevented from prosyletizing others. That's certainly not the same as what happened in the OP.
