"Do not add to what I command you and do not subtract from it, but keep the commands of the LORD your God that I give you." Deuteronomy 4:2

Moses told this to the Israelites just before they were going to enter the Promised Land. Everything regarding the Jewish faith is written into the Torah. Even traditions were written into the law, traditions such as detailed descriptions of the erection of the Tabernacle. Everything we need to know is in the Word. Anything else we add on, the artificial traditions, are just - add-ons, when we were specifically told not to add on anything to God's commands.

Opinions? In relation to the verse please.

Ya sure. Jesus Christ is the Word of God. The Apostles did His bidding without any formal Scripture to depend on, and He gave them a whole bunch of new instructions.

I concede for having traditions - only if they were specifically written in the Word.
That's the problem you seem to be having. Tradition is God's Word in oral form. Scripture is God's Word in written form. Both are acceptable and authoritative.

The verse! The verse! Everything Moses told the Israelites were written down. Nothing was left unwritten. Why do you think the Torah is so boring? Because it's all been written down.

Why do you suppose God wrote the Ten Commandments and all His Laws on the two stone tablets? GOD wrote them. He knew that the written word would pass on better than mouth. Because we are forgetful people.

If they weren't written into Scripture, how do we know it's God's command?

You've got the cart before the horse, it is not putting something into Scripture that makes it the word of God, but rather the word of God recorded in text makes it Scripture. One is a subset of the other.

I believe "God's Word = Scripture". They are one and together, and no more space for more stuff.

Jesus gave the apostles a new commandment. it wasn't written down until much later after he said it. But it was authoritative the moment He said it.

It's written down. That's why we never dispute on the New Commandment nor the New Law, but we dispute the stuff that isn't in the Scripture. Once you deviate from the written, that's where everybody starts to argue.

People who walk by sight need written evidence to prove their point. We are called to walk by faith.

Believing that the Bible is God's Word is faith by itself. Faith isn't wild imagination, nor based on "God's oral commands" either.

Not all of them. Read the last paragraph of the Gospel according to John.

Voila. I said the main events, events that we need to know. We've got the entire Old Testament backing Jesus' life. Jesus was a complete fulfillment of the Old Testament. Therefore, Old Testament + Jesus' New Testament = God's Word. Nothing more, nothing less.

"By mouth" may mean Sunday sermons, based on the Scripture.
Dude, go ahead and believe what you want. It make no difference what I say, you are going to anyways. Have fun proving your point to yourself.
