There is, in fact, erosion, decay, extinctions, floods, and so forth. There are also uplifting of land, energy poured in continuously from the sun, birth of new generations on a regular basis.

Why that is taken to be an argument against evolution or deep time is not clear to me. Perhaps you could explain that.

I believe in 'deep time'; OEC, Gap theory. The geologic record clearly shows ruin/restoration over millions of years.

As others have pointed out, you have a highly distorted understanding of what scientists actually do.

Some scientists work in their labs, others play (and we all pay).

Can a chimp and human reproduce? NO.

The story for years was that man was a direct descendant, when the possibility of that got shot down, they invent the hominid, so is the hominid extinct or imaginary?

Oh that's hilarious...

What does that have to do with whether we share a common ancestor?
cell fusion

Oh really? When was that?[/quotes]
That was back in the days when matter only had three states.

How did humans evolve into the big-brained, bipedal ape that we are today?
This article examines the fossil evidence of our 6 million year evolution.

I'm sorry, but you're still not making any sense. How does cell fusion relate back to whether the fact that humans and chimpanzees can reproduce or not has anything to do with whether we share a common ancestor?

When you learn about immutable principles, it will.

When anything is possible - nothing.

If I may, I would suggest try reading Thomas Paine.

I'm skeptical about your claim that "the story for years was that man was a direct descendant (of chimpanzees)"

Thanks, but I've forgotten more about this subject in the last week than you've learned in your entire life. Any chance you can actually answer the questions I have asked?

Nice diaphanous verbiage and vacuous rhetoric. Any chance you can actually answer the questions I have asked?

Ok, I think I got it straight (walks off muttering hominahominahomina). :confused2:

Do we have tons of evidence demonstrating that humans and chimps share a common ancestor? Yes.

Show me a single scientific paper saying that humans were a direct descendant of living chimps.

I haven't read the thread, so sorry if this is a repeat, but there is no one piece of evidence that proves evolution. Rather, there are myriad different sorts of independent pieces of evidence that all point to the same conclusion. No one thing proves evolution, but all things taken together do (as much as one can prove something, anyway).

However, evolution could be disproven by a single piece of evidence. And yet, not one single piece of evidence has ever come close to disproving evolution.

Evolution will not be disproved in this dispensation, but will in fact wax worse and worse, culminating in the Tribulation period under the Antichrist (False Scientist).

Disproving evolution is a task that Jesus Christ will perform Himself, when He comes back.

Disproving evolution is a task that Jesus Christ will perform Himself, when He comes back.

And so, when he never 'returns', it will never be disproven I suppose.

That works quite nicely for me.

You're correct, it won't.
It takes an act of faith to turn one's back on evolution; but it can be done.

Hebrews 11:24 By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter;

By faith, I refuse to be called a Homo sapiens.

For those who struggle with it, just take this advice:

Psalm 17:15 As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.

Be satisfied every morning when you wake up that you were made in the image & likeness of God, and tell evolution to take a hike.
